Hi, i have a belkin fsd9230-4, i have just moved house and am with vigin media on broadband. Whe virgin came to re-install my broadband they gave me a new modem, very nice of them.. i need my modem upstairs in the kids room so they can use the pc, attatched to that is my router, i have never had any problems until i had this new modem. i can see my network on my laptop but my laptop will not connect to it. i have reset my router to factory settings and tried to re-install it but nothing. i can see my factory set router but cant connect to it from downstairs. i have noticed that the signal light on my router keeps going out and does not stay on. so i took the modem and router downstairs and connected it up, and it works perfect in the front room and i have tried in another bedroom and i can connect if i stay in that room but if i move away from the router it disconnects. i know this might sound strange but i have leaded double gazed windows throughout my new home, could this be the problem as to why i cannot connect with the router when it is upstairs, or could i try to change channels? i really need to use my laptop downstairs and the kids have to have there pc in there bedroom as there's is not a wireless pc. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Relocating your router might solve the problem
Hi joanne1505,
You are currently operated your wireless frequency in a wrong place where maybe a lot of obstacles which possible the signal cannot spread it further upstairs. Try to relocate your wireless router to another place which you find the signal was best for you.
Hoping that this will be the best solution you are looking for.
Best regards,
Philip
Yes you may trying chaing the channel to 11, because i have hear that chaning the channel will resolve this problem
