Hi there.
The audio out or headphone jack is located at the front of the laptop and is coloured green.
Get a male to male mini stereo jack ( about 3 meters ) and you will be in business!!

Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa!!

To be more specific, the output of the laptop is the headphone jack which is your standard mini plug. The other end is possibly the same type plug which goes into the "hole" you describe. Typically, most folks use the mini plug to red/white RCA plugs. And yes, you can easily find all these cables at any hardware/electronics store.

Get a stereo cable - one end male stereo jack(just like any headset used with your laptop) and other end 2 male audio jacks (like normal audio-video cable)

My acer laptop screen has broke and i would like to know if its possible to connect it up to my 42" samsung plasma ?

Most laptops have a 15pin D-sub connection that allows you to attach an external display. Most LCD and plasma TV's also have a 15pin D-sub connector to connect a PC to.

Look on the side of your laptop and the back of your TV for this connector and if both have it just find a standard monitor cable to connect them.

Your laptop will have a function key to enable or disable the external display.

I have a toshiba satilite latop and want to connect it to my sony bravia tv to view my photos. It has a PC socket at the back with both a one pin and a 15 pin socket. What lead do I need? and will my sony...

Normally all one has to do is use a 15pin VGA lead to connect the laptop to the TV socket, select PC on the TV and that should be that. There may be problems if your laptop in a MAC and if the resolutions do not match.

Can i hook my computer to tv ?

Hello

You can connect your Sylvania LC320ss8 to a computer. There is a socket at the back of your TV to connect it with a PC via VGA cable. One end of that cable must be connected to TV, and the other end of the VGA cable must be connected to PC's monitor out jack.. You have to purchase on VGA cable for this purpose, and is available at most of the electronic spare part shops. A "mini-plug audio cable" also is needed to connect the audio from PC to TV. Its one end to be connected to PCs Audio Line Out jack and its other end to TVs PC in audio jack. Both Jacks can be located at the back side of the TV. After connecting it select the TV to receive PC signals according to its manual says. OK.

How is the best way to be able to watch free to air television on my laptop?

The best way to watch live tvs on laptop requires the following.

1. Fast broadband connection.
2. Good configuration of laptop with a display good card.
This is in case you wish to watch live tv through internet.

Second option available to you is via tv tuner card. but that will make your laptop stuck to one location as through tv tuner card you cannot receive frequency via wifi.

The link below tells about watching television on laptop in deep alongwith mechanism involved.

What channel do i go to for svideo cable??

The TV doesn't output the TV as such, UNLESS it has what is called a "Monitor" Output Sockets on it. Then you can connect up to, say another "Screen" or Take the Outgoing Video, & Sound, and "Record" it to a PC, via a Video INPUT via a TV/Video INPUT card. BUT you cannot play the TV on the laptop, FROM the TV. like you wish to do. If your laptop has a TV card INSIDE your laptop, then you could use that and display the OUTPUT from that TV cards' tuner, on the TV. But not the "other" way around. That SVHS is ONLY an INPUT out from your PC. You can put you system into either "Cloned"mode, IE: Whats displayed on laptop screen,is also displayed on the TV, Or, you can have as you seem to now, Extended Desktop. I hope this clears things up for you. Also when using that SVHS connection the Audio comes OUT on the Red & White AV sockets on the set. So you need that cable and another pair for the Audio..

Lead from external harddrive to tv- to show films,--usb connection from harddrive to 15pin to tv

Dear ragalgey,
As far As I can remember, most TV design to receive the signal to watch whatever you want limited to available TV station in your local broadcaster.
If you think you connect your harddrive to TV USB or 15pin (VGA cable) then you can watch the movie file from harddrive is a totally wrong!
You need a drive or a player for those file that capable to configure your TV to play them. Or at least you need a PC or Laptop Computer that played your harddrive then send the images/video via Video Out Jack (Yellow) from your laptop, or connect the 15pin VGA jack from Laptop PC out then plug in to your TV. In this case you'll need the Jack/adapter to convert from 15pin VGA from laptop to available Video jack on your TV.
Good Luck!

Best Regards,

How to connect samsung pasma tv to pc?model number is PS42B450B1XUM

Hello,

That does depend on the PC, but I'll assume it's a pretty standard PC.

You ideally need a Male 15Pin VGA cable to Male 15Pin VGA cable. (aka A normal Monitor Cable) The same as you probably have connected between your PC and Monitor.

Your TV has a 15Pin VGA Female socket on the back, this cable plugs into here.

For Sound the TV has what looks like a headphone socket next to the VGA Plug. You need to use a Stereo Jack Plug to Stereo Jack Plug Cable. 3.5mm. This goes from your PC's Audio Line Out (rear of the PC) to the Plug on the rear of the TV. It is usually marked Aux In or PC Sound.

Enjoy, The PC will look great on the Tv.
