If your daughter was given the Woody (from Toy Story) talking doll recently, I suggest you contact the person who gave it to her, explain the problem, and ask where he / she purchased it, so you can find out about the warranty on the toy. Reference to warranty information may have been printed on the box the doll came in, but you probably do not have that. :)

If the person who gave your daughter the doll still has the sales receipt, the doll COULD be taken back to the store where it was purchased and returned in exchange for a working one. Or, if the doll was purchased on line, the person who gave your daughter the doll could contact the seller and return it in exchange for a working doll.

I have found information online regarding a broken pull string to activate speech on the doll. See Fixya.com replies here:

I did not see your problem described in the instructions for the Luvabella doll,

I am having the same problem. I got 3 of them for my kids. I did find a phone number but be aware, they are not American therefore speak with very heavy accents. 1-888-217-7688. I am still trying to figure it out with what they tried telling me over the phone.

I can tell you this if you find the switch that is on Amanda back this turns her on. You must be in a quiet room. You have to touch her one of her hands to make her speak. The right one should do the trick. This link has a lady talking about the doll and going through instructions setting up the doll. Purchase a new beanie baby, remove the eye and sew or superglue onto old one. Also you could call the company and order a new one. To get the phone number ask a toy store or search online.

i would say it is screwed, maybe a crack in the main board or if your lucky a loose wire, if your brave open it up and take a look see if anything is smashed or come loose, but in general i think your daughter has just lost a toy :-(
