How To Install Repair Replace Parking Brake Release CableHandle ... or replace a broken or worn out parking brake release cable handle.
you will have to get a line wrench and take out the old line. the parts store only sells straight line so you will have to bend it as close to the original as you can. be sure to buy the tool that will help bend the line without kinking it.
if rear e-brake locks up then get under car and pull on cable to rear wheels, this should un lock brakes, if the cable is not in a bad state and rusted. if to bad replace rear cables. if it comes loose then oil the cable good at the rear wheels. this may take care of problem.but you may have to take rear tire off to check on the condition of rear brakes also.
I have never heard of a reason to replace brake hard lines. Thier are short flexable ones that can replaced but no reason to unless someone put the wrong fluid in and swelled the rubber parts. In that case you would also need wheel cylinders and a master cylinder
If your brake lights are not coming when pressing the foot brake this means that there is something wrong with the switch..Have a closer look near the brake lever and you will see a spring attached to it which in turn is connected to the brake switch..Try to pull it down and if you see your brake lights working then you only need to adjust the spring setting..Else try to make a manual close connection and if it goes on then replace the switch..
