SOURCE: Toshiba satellite A100 slot 2 doesn´t work. A

Is memory matched (DDR2 667)

Have you put original mem in slot 2

Download / install CPU-Z with both modules in and run program to see if it shows.

If all above is correct may be damaged mobo.

This is for your laptop from vendors site.

Memory5
• Configured with 512MB DDR2 SDRAM (1 slot occupied and 1 available)
• 512MB(min)/2048MB (max), 2 memory slots using 256MB, 512MB or 1024MB PC4200 DDR2 533MHz SDRAM.

SOURCE: where is the jumper at on a toshiba satellite l505 s5990 for bios rest

Try removing the coin cell battery from the mother board for about 30 minutes. This resets the BIOS on a lot of laptops.

Toshiba satellite Laptop(Windows 7) L505-S59903

Try searching the Toshiba website for your model number. I'd give you the link, but I get Toshiba's Americas website, which says your model was not made for the Americas and is not supported there, or is a custom model (model number on the bottom label starts with the letter "P"). You may be able to download user guides or manuals from there.

Need to see location of cmos battery on a toshiba satellite l505d

It's soldered to the bottom of the motherboard,

Scroll down to Step 23 , and click on the photo.

Main article,

http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/Toshiba-Satellite-L505-L505D/remove-laptop-motherboard-1.htm

NOTE*
You will be unsoldering a solder connection on a BATTERY.
Need to be good, or the battery could bl-ow up.

Make SURE you have no Static on your body, OR use an ESD wrist strap, and connect the alligator clip to a Good ground source. (Average cost is around $3 to $6)

I hope this is because the laptop will not keep the time, and date.
You CANNOT reset a BIOS password this way.

Toshiba's have a small capacitor in line, that stores a small residual amount of power. Enough to keep that BIOS password set, even if the CMOS battery is taken out for days, weeks, or months.

There are two SMALL copper pads that are shorted out BRIEFLY, with a jumper wire.

Toshiba satellite l505d-s5007 Toshiba satellite l505d-s5007 laptop. Need jumper or dipswitch identification to short out or switch to the bios password.

I don't think that's available on laptops; I've never seen it on Toshiba models. There is usually a small battery to save BIOS info and keep the clock going when the main battery is out. It's either under the keyboard or near the memory or wireless card compartment. Remove the main battery and leave the adapter unplugged. Open the compartments and look for a a connector with just a red and black wire connected to it - if you see it going to a coin cell, that's the one you want. Unplug it and wait ten seconds. Plug it in and put everything back together. If you got the right connector, your computer will probably go straight to BIOS and ask you to set the time and date.

I need a Bios password for my toshiba satellite l505

To reset the BIOS password read the information from this link.

In case of your laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery or the jumper and I wouldn't recommend doing it especially if it's under warranty. Also most of the Toshiba laptops have the CMOS battery soldered to the motherboard.

I have toshiba satellite LToshiba Satellite L505-S5966 PC Notebook L505 -S bios password forget need to remove

Hi

To bypass the BIOS password for your laptop press and hold Left Shift key and check if password is bypassed. If it is not then you would need to reset it. To reset the BIOS password you would need to remove the RTC battery on the motherboard and try and restart the laptop 2-3 times. With the laptop turned offf follow these steps--

  • Open Memory Cover
  • Remove Memory
  • Remove Black plastic insulation
  • Locate & Short CMOS CLR1 for 15 Seconds

  • Hope this helps... If it does please do not forget to accept the solution or post back for assistance.
