Archos cobalt 80 wont turn on or charge

I got an archos 80 cobalt tablet for Christmas last year. it hadn't been switched on in a while but I tried to use it a few days ago. however it didn't turn on. it wont charge when its plugged into the wall or my laptop. no lights come on either. I don't know what has happened to it but I don't want to throw it away until I know for sure that it is broken. any help at all will be appreciated xx

Leave it to charge for 2 hours just in case there isn't enough power for it to boot up properly until it has an initial charge.

Happens to me at least once a week! Use the reset button - works every time.

If the archos was purchased new from Archos stores they have warranty on them call tech support to find out. Have your serial number and product model number handy.

SOURCE: archos charging the battery takes too long

I found that I have to leave my archos 605 powered on to get a full charge out of it, blinking light and all

Does the cable work with another device? Have you tried a differnt charger? Do you know if the electic outlet is working?

My archos 80 g9 froze the day after i bought it and it wont unfreeze

1) Take it back to where you bought it
2) Unplug all the cables, including the power cord
3) Press the power button and hold it for 30 secs (or so)
4) Replace the power plug, try to turn on the monitor
5) If it turns on, turn it off again
6) Now attach only one cable, then turn it on

Did that clear it? If not, issue is with video card and monitor combo

Sound gone on my archos 80 cobalt tablet

I have the same problem. No sound at all on my Archos Cobalt 80 tablet. Hasn't been dropped, bumped; just suddenly stopped working. Tablet has been formatted, soft and hard reset, backed up and restored to factory default settings, updated the firmware and still no sound. Any help is appreciated thanks.

The battery completely drained and now I have it plugged in to the computer via a usb cord but I am not sure it is charging at all. How can I tell?

Well the screen will Turn on but like mine it drained and I hadn't been on it for a while and then I plugged it in and it didn't turn on but I Just left it and then it fired to Life !! I hope this Helped x

Wont turn on...before this it would shut off and then power on like it was loading a web page..I have only had this kindle since Christmas.

I received my 3g model for Christmas as well. Last night, it lost wireless connectivity, froze and then would not turn back on, even though it was fully charge. However, I charged overnight again.

This morning, I held the on switch for much longer than normal, until the green light started flickering. I received a simple black screen a few times, but contintinued to hold the switch on. Then it reset itself and all is good.

So I know that sounds like a simple solution, but maybe worth trying. Good luck. It's disgusting, I know. I was so upset.

My son and daughter got a new Archos 28 each for Christmas, my son's has stopped charging. I of course can not find my receipt and Kmart wont take it back. How else can I get this fixed? I paid too much money for this thing for it to stop working in just a couple of days....Can anyone help me?
