KDL-40XBR3 turns itself off; STANDBY light flashes 9 times
My Sony BRAVIA KDL-40XBR3 turns itself off within 5 seconds after I turn it on. The red STANDBY light flashes 9 times after it turns off. How can I fix this?

Five times blinks to Sony Bravia is related with an IRK error. It is related to its main digital board. In most cases, the main board might need replacement. It will be best to contact the authorized service center for Sony. I am experiencing exactly the same problem. TV turns on but within 60 seconds the screen goes black and the red standby light blinks six times. Were you able to resolve this problem on your TV?
There is a power fault with one of the PCB's inside, contact Sony if you are still in warranty, if not contact a Sony service center as it will need an engineer to open it up to repair it.
I finally managed to solve this problem by unplugging everything - scarts - HDD cables - power etc and left it for an hour. When I turned it back on again the problem had sorted itself out.
This sounds like a power source problem! (faulty transformer) I would pack it up and take it back for a new one!
This is a problem you can not fix yourself unless your a pro!
