SOURCE: DECLOGGING DRIED PAINT VEINS IN MANIFOLD

You can't hurt it any more than it is, so I would try a liquid paint remover/stripper and let the metal parts soak over night. I'd be more careful with the plastic parts. Poke in the holes with a fine wire (paper clip) or pin. About the service manual, use a search engine (Dogpile, google) and search the web.

SOURCE: Airless sprayer, paint comes out like silly string

In order of ease/cost to fix: First, check your spray tip. Most of them are reversible to help spray out any debris that may be lodged in them. Next, check that all of your filters are clear and let paint flow freely. Depending on your model there are up to three, one filter in the spray gun, usually in the handle, another filter is at the pickup tube and some sprayers also have another filter on the machine where the hose hooks up. Another cause may be because your paint is way too thick or not mixed well. A highly recommended paint additive for airless sprayers is Floetrol, it makes the paint flow extremely well. If none of these fix your problem you may well have a worn packing or diaphragm, again depending on your model, and the machine isn't developing enough pressure to atomize the paint. If you have the means put a pressure guage in line with the hose at the machine and turn it on. You need at least 1200 to 1800 psi for most latex paints, a little higher for enamels and thicker paints.

Sprayer was working fine and ran low on paint and lost prime. could not get it to re-prime. now its still got paint in it and i can't get it to do anything. i need to clean it ont.

I haven't much experience with airless sprayers but I have heard the bad language from those who use them.

I expect there is still paint in the business end of the mechanism and an air bubble stuck between that and the new paint fill.

I think the sprayhead will have to be removed or dismantled so the air will be able to escape and allow priming to take place. I suggest spending a little time with the instruction manual.

How much should I thin paint for pneumatc sprayer?

you did not mention what paint, you did not mention what sprayer.

remember, if you use solvent - opacity of the paint is sacrified, tints are less visible, metallic require more clear coverage.

for water based paints - except airbrush, usually no thinning is required, but you need to first stir it well (at least 3min on manual or 1min 30sec if mechanical stirer is used) strain it, i am using old stockings for that purpose in single layer, works very well for me and if nozzle is above 1.4mm up to 2.8mm there is no problem whatsoever. if this is splatter paint (nozzle 4.5mm or greater) do not even think about thinning it...

for acrylic - if nozzle is between 0.8mm and 2.8mm, procedure as above and you need to add specific thinner, usually up to 20% albeit in some cases up to 40% per volume) so paint will be about like ight cooking oil - water.

for oil paints and enamels - solvent should be not more than 20%, albeit you can increase it up to 40% in rare circumstances, if you are using hvlp gun, you can, if you yousing hp gun - no! it will disperse too much.

for two packs and urethanes - not more than 20% better keep between 5% and 10%

for latex - in rare circumstances you are allowed to use very, VERY specific solvent, and ususally not more than 10%, nozzle usually is 8mm or greater in these paints.

These pumps are piston pums and have two check valves that must operate to build pressure. They cannot stand any paint drying inside these check vavle. The first one is near the suction line connection and the other is neare the outlet by the hose. Disassemble each (one at a time) clean throughly. Here is a link to their web site. If you get your model number you can dowload a parts manual http://www.chpower.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/XManuals?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10001 A friend borrowed mine, and "accidently" left paint dry in it. Laytex paint is hard to disolve. If you can get any material to flow through, you might try to recirculate some solvent awhile to clean interior. You also can check oil level, but if the level keeps going low, then the diaphragm is leaking and must be replaced. (Leaks right into your paint)
