SOURCE: my delphi xm is frozen

My radio was stuck on "scanning media" and the regular reset (volume up and Mode) did not work.
Nothing that I did, fixed it...
I called Delphi and they said...
(1) Put radio in it's cradle, press Volume UP/Mode buttons for 3 seconds until it resets.
(2)Then when the "scanning media" message appears press up arrow, down arrow, up arrow.

My delphi screen unlocked. I LOST everything that I had recorded, but that was fine with me.

I had to update the firmware and everything is working fine.

Losing all my recorded songs was much better than having to send in my radio!

Hopefully this will work for you!
Delphi was extremely helpful and very nice so don't be afraid to call them if this doesn't work!

Hold the up volume button and the mode button at the same time. I have to do it almost every day. This is only a problem when using the car kit. No problem at all when using with portable kit or home kit.

SOURCE: New Delphi installation over older delphi car kit

Just installed the xpress RC in my Durango, replacing my SKYFi2. Both units are Delphi (all of the newer xpress RC's are made by Audiovox now, but Amazon sent me the Delphi made unit). Everything swapped out with the exception of the 12dc power cord. Had to use the one included in the new unit, plug size that goes in the new cradle for the RC is different. In the new unit I did get two "user guides" in Spanish and none in English (I wish America would adopt one friggin standard language. English) but other than that it was quick and painless.

SOURCE: delphi skyfi2 Xm Radio Receiver car connection

Yes, you can buy an FM Direct adapter that will allow you to transmit directly to your car FM tuner, but if you have an older SkyFi2, the Fm transmitter is so strong, you can sit the radio on the floor and tune your car radio to your preset XM channel, like 107.1 FM and it will work great. Go into "Menu" and pick a channel that's not used locally.

My Delphi SkyFi2 power goes off when I hit a bump in my car

You most likely need a new dock with a solid DC jack connection. Also, there is a "lock" on the back of the dock to hold your SkyFi tuner in the dock tighter. I'd give you one of my docks if you lived nearby! Good luck and let us know what you find out.

Delphi Shyfi XM radio only picks up certain channels in the car cradle but picks up all of them on the Boombox. Why?

XM actually uses 2 sets of transmitters on each satellite, so it is possible you need to adjust your antenna to get the rest of the channels in the car cradle.

Delphi SKYFi2 won't work

I just had my dial pop out and pushed it back in, with limited use again. You may have cracked the circuit board. If so, I would buy another SkyFi2 from eBay, etc, so you can reuse all your accessories. IMO, the SkyFi2 is the BEST XM radio ever built in terms of features (until it hits concrete).

Broken SkiFi vs New SkiFi 2? Direct Replacement? Please advise-Thanks

The original SkyFi's display was quite difficult to see in the sunlight. The glare was too much. The new unit's display is a different material, and sunken in to alleviate the problem of glare.
The SkyFi2 also has TuneSelect. It was the first receiver to allow the user to enter the artist information for memory. Other units with TuneSelect only allowed song titles.
It also added a 3rd bank of presets, allowing for 30 presets instead of the original's 20 presets. SkyFi2 added the option of a stock ticker, or sports score ticker in the display. The original SkyFi's option of 3 different displays included the channel number only, to be displayed. Also, there is a built in FM modulator so you can set the tune on the reciever... and yes you will be able to use all of your accessories.

From the XM user's manual, page 14.

1. Make sure your SKYFi2 is turned off. Unplug any accessory from SKYFi2’s audio jack.
2. Turn on an FM radio and place it close to your SKYFi2.
3. Tune the FM radio to each of the following FM frequencies: 88.1, 88.3, 88.5, 88.7, 88.9, 106.7, 106.9, 107.1, 107.3, 107.5, 107.7, and 107.9.
4. Note the frequency that has no FM station or the least amount of interference.
5. Turn on your SKYFi2.
6. Press the “menu” button.
7. Use the scroll wheel to select “FM Frequency.” Press the “XM” button to confirm.
8. Use the scroll wheel to select the frequency noted in step 4. Press the “XM” button to confirm.
9. Press the “menu” button to return to the main menu and then again to return to the play screen.
10. You should now hear XM programming over your FM radio. If the sound is not clear or you hear
interference or static, try another frequency by repeating the process above.
