SOURCE: Insignia Mp3 player frozen

If you hold the power button for 20 seconds it will shut off. I had the similar problem where I unplugged my Insignia NS4V17B frozed on the bluetooth initializing screen. I turned it off then back on and it is now working fine.

You'll need to erase the internal and external memory, then re-add all your files.

You can use Windows Explorer to transfer files to your insignia sport player. First, in the settings on your player, go to Settings, USB Mode, Connection Type and select File & Folder. Then, plug your player in to your USB cable. Windows XP should automatically find your player and make a new drive letter in Windows Explorer. Simply drag and drop your files from your c drive to the new drive for your player. You'll notice that when you delete the files on your new drive for your player that it doesnt remove them from your player. You'll need to use your player (settings, system, erase internal) to erase internal (and external), but after that when you add new files, they will be added to the player when it does the profiling after you disconnect the USB cable. SOURCE: I have a Insignia CE1177 that is frozen.

there's a little rubber cover on the back just above the word insignia. use something sharp to pry it off. remove the small phillips head screw. grab the tabs on the sides and pull the back off. the two wires of the battery are connected to a small plug. unplug the battery and then plug back in. this cuts the power and acts as a reset. should solve the freeze problem

I bought a refurbished insignia NS-DV2G and it didn't come with the software CD. Where can I get the required software?

Hi

Flip the MP3 player's "Hold" switch to "Off" if the switch is on. Depending on the MP3 player you own, this switch is likely located at the side or top of the player. Once the switch is off, try to turn the player on.

Let the battery of the MP3 player die. A frozen MP3 player is technically still running, and thus the battery for that player is being drained. Wait until the battery is fully dead before you can unfreeze it

Charge the MP3 player using either a computer (that's turned on) or an electronic MP3 charger. Charging the player's battery may "jolt" the player out of its frozen state. Connect the player to the computer or charger via the player's USB cable. Charge the player for 30 minutes before attempting to turn it on.

Sync the player with the appropriate software program (for example, Windows Media Player) for the MP3 player. Connect the player to the computer as described in the previous step. Open the software program and click the "Sync" tab at the top or side of the program. If necessary, click "Start Sync" underneath the tab. The name of the player appears under the "Sync" tab if the player has synced successfully. Try turning the player on once it has synced with the program.

Press the small "Reset" button on the MP3 player. This hard reset shuts the player down completely. Use a pin, tack or thin nail to press down the very small "Reset" button on the side or back of the MP3 player to reset the player. Then, try to turn the player on.
