I have a fargo HPD 5000 and I am getting the error 91 stating the ribbon is out..i have changed and its still showing the same error. am I doing something wrong?

Hi Camille - that is indeed the error message for "ribbon out". This has a few possible causes:

1. Make sure you have the right ribbon for the printer. The standard color (YMCK) ribbon is #084051; if dual-sided, the standard YMCKK ribbon #084052; if monochrome/black print only, that is ribbon #084060.

2. Make sure the ribbon is loaded correctly. The spools are color-coded, so make sure the orange on the ribbon spool is in placed with the orange on the carrier - ditto for the blue.

3. Make sure you've changed the "ribbon", not the "film". The ribbon has orange and blue spools; the film has yellow & green spools.

4. Make sure the ribbon is loaded properly on the carrier - it goes the "long way" around the carrier, across the silver/metal rollers.

5. Try another new ribbon - they're RFID tagged, and occasionally an RFID tag is bad, missing, or corrupted.

6. Verify you have the latest printer firmware, to ensure all ribbon manufacturing site-codes (embedded in the RFID tag) are recognized as valid for your printer.

If you have continued problems, we can help with further support, including potential repairs. Good luck!

Magicard Enduro+ printer error message prompt "Wrong Dye file, error 31:01, see your dealer supplier. I have original dye films.

That error can be caused by several conditions.

1. Make sure the printer driver is set properly for the ribbon type you're using. For example, if you have a MA100YMCKO ribbon, make sure the driver is set for it, rather than the MA1000K or MA250YMCKOK ribbon. NOTE - you must have Windows admin privileges to be able to adjust driver settings.

2. Make sure you're using a compatible ribbon type. Magicard makes many ribbon types, and they're not always compatible across all printers. Make sure the ribbon you have IS specified for the Enduro+ printer.

3. Update your firmware. All ribbons contain an RFID tag that informs the printer of the ribbon type, print-count, manufacturing site, lot-number, etc. If you have old firmware, it may not properly recognize the ribbon, resulting in this error condition.

4. Try an alternate ribbon. On very rare occasion, one of the ribbon RFID tags is missing or corrupted. The likelihood of 2 separate ribbons having the same issue is very small.

5. The printer may have a bad RFID-tag reader/sensor, which would have to be replaced by an authorized service center.

I have whirlpool buil in oven it gave us s6f2 we replace. A new board it worked for 1 minute and then gave us code e1f2 what do we do now.thank you

An E1-F2 Error is a "ribbon cable not connected" Error.
It is a keypad related issue. Try cleaning the ends of the ribbon cable, the plastic strip which comes from the keypad and clips into the control board, lightly with a pencil eraser. ( http://www.fixyourboard.com/techzone/ovens/keypad_tail_clean/keypad_tail_clean.html ) Often, the contacts become corroded and will cause an E1F2 error code. Also double check that the ribbon cable is attached straight and secure in the connector. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YylBTJYBlGk - watch this video from the 1 minute mark. It will help you with the the ribbon cable. Inspect the ribbon for creases; if it's creased, an E1F2 error doesnt cease, or buttons do not respond, the keypad is faulty.

If youre looking for a replacement Whirlpool touchpad but notice that they're no longer manufactured, Ledgestone Technologies makes nice replacements.

Why is printer ribbon jammed?

Reinstall the Ribbon Cartridge. If the Ribbon Cartridge is defective, replace it. If "false" ribbon jam errors occur (Ribbon Jam Error occurs but the ribbon moves freely), replace the RF Unit.

An improperly adjusted Card Guide Assy will impair the ribbon's feed performance. Perform the Card Guide
Mount Adjustment.

A deformed Ribbon Mask can cause the ribbon to jam. Check and, if damaged, replace the Ribbon Mask.

An incorrect platen gap can cause the ribbon to jam.
NOTE: The following adjustments affect the platen gap: the Card Guide Mount Position Adjustment, the
APTC Thickness Detection Adjustment, and the APTC Detection Adjustment.

If no Paper Feed from either paper path

Action:
1.Replace the LF Motor.
2.Replace the ROM Board.

Intermittent Paper Feed from either paper paths

Action:
1.Replace the LF Motor.
2.Replace the ROM Board

F-1 oven error keeps coming on. took ribbons out and cleaned them. still no luck.

Hi

Error code F1 means that an error with the keypad has occurred. Usually it happens due to loose ribbon cable on the keypad or the electronic control assembly itself going bad. To resolve this issue first, disconnect the power to unit and then gain access to the back of the clock assembly (Electronic Range Control/ERC). Now unplug the touch pad ribbon connector from the ERC, it would be a flat wire approx. 1 1/2" to 2" wide and make sure that the cable is not broken and nothing is shorted on the keypad. After this is done insert the cable back and then plug the unit back to check. If the error is still there then the electronic control board should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

I have a Zebra 105 SL, I have the ribbon installed but the printer tells me that the ribbon is out. I've tried changing the ribbon and labels out but as soon as I power it back up and try printing again...

Calibrate the printer from the setup menu.

You'll (1) Load the label backing with the ribbon (2) remove the ribbon - just shove it to the right, out of the way of the ribbon sensor (3) reload the label and ribbon.

The printer will run a number of labels out.

304 barcode damaged

Try one of the following:
1. Turn the printer off, then back on
2. Reverse the ribbon; perhaps it is upside down

Once the printer is powered on and the ribbon is in correctly, the printer should work.
