i have a deskjet 920c, the color cartridge was running out of ink, so i switched it to print black only. it worked for a few printings but then the cartridge (orange) light started blinking. i thought that maybe the black cartridge was out too so i replaced it with a new cartridge. but it is still blinking and not printing. do both cartridges have to be full even if i just want to print in black? how to get it to stop blinking?

The printer won't print. The yellow light just keeps blinking and the unit won't recognize it. It goes to the dead face and empty cartridge icon when i open it. Went to the toolbox to align cartridges, however, it won't even printa page to test it out and still blinks. I have tried unplugging the printer, turning it off/on , rebooting and various other things. Can someone provide some insight as to what it could be

Hi,
Make sure Orange protective cap (tape) has been removed from the bottom of the ink cartridge.
Either ink Cartridge is not installed properly or the function for detecting the ink level is disabled.
Make sure that you install ink cartridges at correct position as indicated by the label on the print head holder. Press PUSH mark until ink cartridge click into the place.

on the paper tray look for the cork like(square in shape) moist it with water and all other rubber rollers.
try placing an oil on the round bar wer inks moves to lubricate.
lastly check the ink bay section inside the printer if it work.How? just open the printer cover and you will hear rolling noise.you can view it
Either you have ran out of an ink, because some epsons wont run until you replace cartridge, you have a document pending a print, or you need to disconnect printer, uninstall drivers from Add/emove programmes.
Re-install driver then re connect printer when prompted
