Magellan 4250 blue screen, not able to reset

Try re booting, turn off like normal, then when you go to turn it on, hold power button down all the way through the start up, and 15 seconds more than release the on button, now it's rebooted, see if that helps, let me know.

Plug it into your computer to see if it recognizes it. Perform a software update from magellan's website. If it still has the white screen, press the reset button with a pen.

If none of that works, then your unit may be defective. Call magellan for a warranty replacement.

where are you getting that error message, on the pc or the 3100

There is a RESET button on the bottom of the unit on the left side

I think there is reset somewhere on the unit. Look around. Mine has a slide switch to reset. Try everything. It already doesn't work. Can't hurt it anymore than it is.

my gps 4250 would show the blue magellan screen (sometimes the map) the it would completely crash! I paid 500 bucks 4 this ****- plz give me some answers!!!!

No a practical solution, but at least you will get your device repair, after being on hold for 40 minutes I spoke to a very nice rep, unfortunately evethough she didn't admit it, it seems a software problem with the new 2008/2009 map update, in other words no way to fix it, you need to send it for repair, make sure you tell them to update the device with the new 2008/2009 Maps, if not you will have the same problem later on, Good Luck
