I need my serial number for dss player software

I want to download my dss player standard onto my mac but have lost the serial number

SOURCE: Digital Voice Recorder Olympus VN 4100 PC

I found software available on an international olympus website. I was able to specify my operating system and my digital voice recorder model (VN-4100 PC) and voila, it gave me the download link for the full version software (not just an update).

I haven't actually installed it yet, so I don't know if it works but here is the link to the website: http://www.olympus-europa.com/consumer/2590_software.cfm?category=8&productgroup=347&product=&os=7&result=

If you are using dss player lite, it does not support downloading. It is only a player. If you have Player for Mac version 1, you need to update to version 6. It can be found here.

The dss file does not read - it comes up on the screen but then becomes unlighted when trying to open it - I have the Olympus AS-2400. It does open the WS files though.

Lost driver disk and key for Olympus DS 330 dictaphone
Try logging into Olympus support. The site is a little difficult to navigate but go in through the professional digital dictaphones and then into archived (or older) models until you find the DS 330. Follow the links to software downloads and you should be able to download the DSS suite and all updates. The DSS suite automatically recognizes most Olympus DSS models. If you will "save" the downloads first, you can burn them to a disk so that you will have a back up copy

I just bought a used DM-40, and formatted my device before reading that I lost the voice guide files. I tried the above links and s/n for installing DSSplayer 7 but no joy. Carnt download information onto my PC
You may wish to call Olympus technical support and they will email you a link to the DSS Player software that you need for the recorder as they will need to provide you a serial key so you are able to install it. Their telephone number is 888-553-4448 option 5 and then option 2

Foot switch will not respond.
The answer is all in the serial number you use to install the DSS player!

Look carefully and you will see the recorder disk has in my case an [E] printed above the install serial number and the transcription pedal has [T]

Install the same disk with the E the driver is there, the control in Control Panel is there, but the foot switch does not work with the software. Put in the serial number with the [T] and foot switch works first time!

If you uninstall the play and then reinstall with the [T] serial number you do not need to reboot or even unplug the foot switch from the USB.
