SOURCE: water is leaking on the

During the defrost cycle heaters inside the walls of the freezer turn on to melt the frost. The melted frost "water" is supposed to drain into a pan under the fridge where it will evaporate. I think the drain line from the freezer to this pan may be blocked. I'd also check the seal on the freezer door. If it's not sealing well it lets a lot of moisture into the freezer which means more water during the defrost cycle. I'd also recommend checking to make sure the ice maker is not leaking.

My Kenmore coldspot 71182100 which is almost 9 years old just started leaking water from the freezer onto the shelves in the fridge. I just cleaned out the freezer and got the ice out. There was not...

I have a Kenmore Coldspot Model #69207990 and have the same problem. Water from the freezer drains into the refridgerator onto the shelves and sheets of ice form. A repairman pointed out that the tube leading down from the freezer onto the drain pan was frozen. By pouring hot water down the tube, he reopened this drain line. Problem solved for six months and the drain line froze again. My question is how to stop this drain line from freezing up again.

I have water pooling inside the refriderator. It

there is a drain in the freezer than gets pluged, unplug frige from wall, put food in ice chest take hair dryer and melt ice thats at back wall in freezer remove icemaker if there, and back wall of freezer inside, melt any remaining ice, **** up water with wet vac or sponge, see the pinky size hole in the pan under the coils, point hair dryer at it for a wile. now take the the lower back cover off behind frige and blow all the dust out and find the plastic tube, about the size of your finger and put the wet vac on it until you can hear it sucking in the freezer, take e cup of hot soapy water ond poor it in the freezer pan. put everthing back and your good to go

Defroster leaks

you have a cloged evap. drain. the rf is defrosting properly but with the drain be clogged the water has to go somewhere which is generally in the crisper draws on top and bottom models. two way to clear up this issue. turn rf OFF for at least 48 to 72 hrs. to allow the drain to de-ice or take matters into your own hands and take the back panel off of the freezer and using boiling hot water pour it down the evap. drain tube until it flows like you just flushed a tiolet

Water leaking from bottom of refriderator

dear ricurtsmith..
your fridge has a water trap pan underneath it to catch the water from the drain line when your fridge automatic defrost.
either the pan is not in place proper or the pan may not be underneath, period. or pan could be stopped up/need cleaning. or if pan is made of plastic, it could be cracked.
it is located at the bottom of fridge where you see something loos like a grilled vent. remove that bottom piece to get to the drain pan.(it just slides out!!) good luck & hope i was helpful.

if there is water on the top shelves in the fresh food section you may have a drain problem when the freezer defrosts. one other possibility is there is a air leak somewhere could be a bad door seal. when warm air enters it will cause condensation and water will drip on the shelves.I suspect it might be comming from the freezer though. a easy way to check is to remove the back panel in the freezer and check for ice in the drain pan. if there is a blockage use a hair drier to melt the ice and hot water to clear the drain. let me know if this helped you solve your problem Good luck
