I have assured there is power (meter).to the spade connectors. I have checked the condition of the brushes. Is the unit fused?
Side Bar: I have noticed some of the gear oil had dripped from the front. Likely due to storing on it side of something.

if the oil is black or dark green this is the transmission grease. There is plenty in the case don't worry. You may have a cracked transmission case or a bad gassket. I think the most likely thing is a loose screw or two. Take the trim band off, 1 screw. Then take the 4 screws that hold the cover on. You can now lift the top and take a look for the sourse of the leak

If you look into the brush holder you will see a stopper at the botom ,(this is so when brushes are wore the spring is not driven into armature) .. the brushes have to be inserted so the groove is lined up , try that
SOURCE: No Power to Mixer
If the motor worked prior to removing the brushes you most likely installed the brushes incorrectly. Remove the brushes and using a flash light look in the brush holder on the mixer. You will notice a small tab at the very end. That tab will prevent the brush from coming in contact with the motor armature if installed incorrectly. Clock the brush so that the angled side lines up with the tab and you should be back in business. Also if you are installing the original brushes use the wear marks to determine which side the brush came out of.
The original issue you had is most likely the nylon gear that is talked about in other posts on here.
Good luck

Hi . Chevron FM ALC EP-2 grease is what you need for the lubricant. This has a Mineral Oil base, allowing for it to, at some time, drip into whatever it is that you mix without concern for your health. From what I can, tell this is the only thing that needs to be done. Clean out as much of the old grease as possible.

Hi Gail. Kitchenaid no longer has a Parts List for your model. This means that they consider it obsolete. Do an Internet search for parts. You may get lucky. Good luck!
