Sound driver installation problem

In my compaq praserio c-700 notebook sound driver installation but during half installation sys require restart but after restart driver not installed completely

The audio drivers are specific to a version of Windows.

Was the audio driver version you installed matched your XP or Vista operating system?

About sound driver. first you have to be sure that the driver you install is the correct one. most of the loptop and nootbook are plug and play if then so , maybe your sound card is destroyed already

HAVE YOU UN-INSTALLED THE PREVIOUS SOUND DRIVER BEFORE YOU TRYING TO INSTALL THIS ONE? IF NOT, AND YOU ALREADY HAVE A SOUND DRIVER INSTALLED, YOU WILL HAVE TO UN-INSTALL IT OR DISABLE IT UNTIL YOU GET THE NEW ONE INSTALLED. THEN SET THE NEW DRIVER AS YOUR DEFAULT DRIVER ONCE INSTALLATION IS COMPLETE.

I have compaq presario C700 notebook PC my problem is that sound is not comming automatically when i start PC. is the sound driver required ? if required pl. inform about the same. thanks !

Go to Compaq pressario site, enter your product &model no and download the appropriate driver. Remember the driver depends on the version of OS you are using and there is seperate driver for each Service Pack of the OS as installed on your computer.......sodeep
