Try to turn the drum by hand, if it hard to turn, there may be something stuck underneath spin basket. If it does turn freely but makes a loud growling sound, you probably have a bad bearing. You should notice black oil and water mixture at bottom of washer, on the rotor. It will usually throw a f51 error code. This unit has service bulletin on this problem.
mine just started doing this on the wash cycle then we have to turn it to drain and spin. Last night it filled with water and refused to do anything else so it said it was done, open the lid and still full of soap and water. Turn it to drain and press the start button and it does nothing, no lights come on. We bought it in 2012, before the washer we had was purchased in 2000, and we are still using the dryer from 2000.
Sorry to say you have a shortage, which means it must be replaced in order for your washer to work. It appears to be worn and thats preventing it from catching or starting..Good Luck.

Are you referring to the Whirlpool Cabrio WTW6600S Series of washers? They don't use an agitator like a conventional washer. They have a movable wash plate located in the bottom.

the ld code means a long drain, what you probably have is something blocking the drain pump. you can get to the drain pump from the back of the unit and it will be the pump on the left as you face the back. you will need to remove the hose going into the pump and be ready for water to come out. sorry but you need to check inside the hose as there will be something blocking it. like a coin or some lint or a small sock. when you get the item out of the hose then it should work again. you do not need to reset the control. once it knows the unit is draining properly it will be ok.
