No water going thru - Aprilaire 700 Humidifier

    Hi George toliopoulos, I want to help you with your problem, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box? Took apart the tubing and both tubes are clean. Water does not pass thru the control metal connection

    Both sides of the tubing are clean. It seems it not going thru the control metal that the tubes connect.

Water leaking / running from top of humidifier
humidifiers have a drain and if there is water going in it will be coming out the drain. check drain to see if it is clear, check hoses going into top of humidifier for cracks, check filter in humidifier.

There is no water going into the humidifier, make: Generalaire 1042
Hello, first thing is check is the strainer going into the solenoid valve for sediment, if there is clean the strainer and reinstall. If the strainer in clean the check if you are getting 24 volts to the solenoid valve, if you have voltage and the solenoid does not let the water thru replace the solenod valve.

Will the water only come on going thru the water solenoid only when it calls for water? Or is it suppose to come on at all times when furnace comes on?
The water should come thru the solenoid valve when the furnace's blower motor turns on, and turn off when the blower motor turns off.

did you check the floats inside. there are 2 of them, 1 alows the solenoid to open the other shuts off elements on low water

trace thre copper tube backwards to where it connects to main water line if there is a valve there open and close it if your not sure whats open or closed try it both ways there is also a little restriction device either on inlet or outlet of solenoid that may be clogged

could also be a clogged filter or orifice. take input line off solonoid and check.clean filter, blow thru orifice. clean with small needle or buy new one.

No Water flow thru Humidifier
Loosen the brass fitting where it connects to the soleniod valve. If water comes out your saddle valve is ok. Carefully retighten this fitting. With the humidifier turned on loosen the first fitting down stream from the valve see if water comes out. if it does turn the humidifier off and see if it stops, it should. That will tell you the the valve is ok then, just clean the filter and the oriface. if it does not turn on and off check the wiring. if ok replace the valve.
