Red light wont go off - DeLonghi Dehumidifiers

red lights on dehumidifiers almost always indicate a full water catch bucket , this does not allways mean it's actually full of water , the machine thinks it is , some thing has gone ary with the level sensor in bucket , these most times are a simple float switch, that can get knocked out of position when one is emptying the bucket , also this same float switch also allows machine to know there's a bucket in place to catch water , sometimes bucket is not in correct place to catch water so machine wont start

Again!!!! Unplug machine X 15 minutes. Then fill with water. Then plug back in! If still lit, you have a water scale (mineral build up) issue that needs cleaning according to owners manual

Usually, when the red water full light glows, it means that the water collection bucket is full & needs to be removed and emptied. Once that's done and the bucket is reinstalled properly, the red light will go out and the unit will turn back ON.

Did you just empty the container? We have one that sometimes you have to slam it back in to get the red light off. Try to take it out and put it back in. Power it off even if you have to unplug it.

There is likely a switch operated by a float to turn that light on and turn off the compressor, sometimes manufactures use a rubber "O" ring on the float shaft and they can slip. take the cover off the pump and check the float or in some cases one of two floats are used. Once float turns the pump on and off and the second float shuts OFF the compressor and turns ON the full reservior light.

you are having a problem with the float switch located at the back of the water tank.

It is supposed to. There is a float that rises as the container fills. When the container is filled to capacity, the float is at its highest point and the humidfier turns off. At the same time, the red light comes on. This is normal. When you remove the container, the red light stays on b/c the float is still at its highest position. It is designed to do this so the humidifier doesn't run when the container is not installed. If the light does not turn off after you replace the container, give the humidifier a tap to move the float back.
