How you can eliminate the sign on E:61:00 the camera sony DSC T-5 series Cybershot

Hello and Welcome

The symptoms of this error is
  • After pressing the power button in capture mode, the lens would extend and a slight humming from what appeared to be the auto focus motor could be heard for about 5 seconds. When the motor stopped humming, the camera would beep and display E:61:00 in the LCD Screen.
  • Camera would extend the lens but not be able to focus on anything past 8 inches or so.
  • Zoom in and zoom out would not work.
  • Playback mode and the Setup mode was not affected.
To solve this
Put the camera about a half inch from a hard surface.
Let the lense go out and hit the surface and retract a little bit. Let it go out all the way when it tries the next time.
If that doesnt fix it, try this:
Turn it on and let the lense go out fully
See where the lens comes out of the camera? The little round crack that surrounds it? Wiggle the lense a bit and blow in there a bit. (Be sure not to blow on the lense!)

Now turn it off/on again, and it should be fixed

My camera Cybershot DSC-W150 has a problem with zoom

Sounds like your lens might be stuck. Do not force it closed or pull it out for that might further damage parts that are an integral part of its sliding mechanism. http://www.teleplancamerarepair.com/Sony_Cyber-Shot_DSC-W150 can repair this for you and they also clean your camera as part of the repair.
if there were any parts you were not able to put together after you opened it , make sure to very carefully put those back to go along with your camera.

Orange light stays on and camera doesnt switch on

Water is second only to fire as being the most destructive thing you can subject your camera to.

Sorry, but it is a write-off. Even after drying out there will be residual and ongoing corrosion and retained moisture in internal components. This is specifically why your warranty is invalidated by such damage and why no camera repairer will even attempt a repair.

All you can do is to see whether you can claim for accidental damage on any insurance policies which you may have.

I don't know what to do... I have a sony cybershot... Turn it on and the lens goes in and out 3 times and then stays out then the lcd says turn camera off and on. Please suggest a remedy... camera just...

If the camera has recently been dropped you may have lens damage that's preventing it from powering up. If it hasn't been dropped your problem may be due to corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera - which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then clean the battery contacts, place the batteries back in the camera and give them a full charge (assuming that you're using rechargeable batteries). This cleaning clears the problem about 80% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, the camera may have a problem that requires professional repair.

When i turn on my sony cybershot DSC-S950 camera, I get a message that says "Turn the power off and on again" and it just keeps coming up over and over again please help

OK you are probably going to think I am loony giving you this advise But No I am completely sane!

Get a can of compressed air OR acces to a compressor at your local garage Get them to fit the triggered air blower tool to it.

Blow around the lens in all the extension joins the firmly slap it in the palm of you hand with the side of the camera making contact with you palm. Do the procedure two or 3 times and inbetween the slaps turn it on to activate the lens mechanism. I have now fixed about 80 of these cameras with this method. I obtained the fix from Sony who charge $90 to do exactly the same. Keep at it as it will eventually work. One tip, make sure the battery is charged before you do this.
