Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.
https://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.
Before going further; try a hard reset first. If it does not help you, replace the main digital board. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; visit the site linked here.

SOURCE: Protron PLTV-32CM LCD no picture

This TV set is still under the warranty and it seems proton has no local service available to you. I know its to late to tell you this but anytime you purchase a set, ask first and see if there is a service local to you. Ok enough of that noise.. I would go back to the store where it was purchaced and ask them if they know of any local shops that handle the warranty repairs.. If you want to pay for the repair, and that will most likly be alot for a flat panel set, You will have to call back proton and ask about the shipping cost and whos responsible for that.

SOURCE: POWER SUPPLY FOR SPECTRONIQ PLTV=3250 (PROTRON)

I had a power supply for my Protron 32 inch TV that was not working. I bought the one on ebay and it stopped working after only three weeks. Ultimately I found a guy who could fix my original power supply for a reasonable price. It's been working for a year now with no problems. I wish I would have tried him first!!!! If anyone is interested his email is [email protected].

TV has static but no picture. When I turn on the TV, I hear 2 clicks and static. Pushing the power button again, static stops and red LED light turns on. After 15 min. TV automatically shuts off.

Check your antenna is plugged in the right place.
Switch TV on then goto it's menu setting, if the menu appears then at least you know the screen works.
As a test, plug in a DVD player to one of the HDMI ports and try to play something. Make sure you select the proper input source from the source menu and see if you get a picture.
If you do then it narrows the problem down.
Next, from the menu, select TV source to see if picture comes.
There are a number of other sequences depending on what decoder or Viewer box you have, if it's just Freeview antenna then you may have a problem with that.
Make sure you've done the auto tune procedures too.....

My Panasonic Viera HDTV Plasma model # tc-p46st3 . T.V. Turns on but NO Picture and the Red power light stays on. Can anyone help with this problem? And is this a job I can do on my own?

do you have the correct "input" or "source" selected? assuming you are using HDMI connectors, when you hit the source button on your remote, make sure you have the correct HDMI selected. Usually, an HDMI corresponds to a "cable box"; or a Blu-Ray player; etc..

Why do my Samsung LED TV turn on with correct sound but don't have picture. The screen stays black. I've already changed my power supply card by a new one?

If TV menu comes on try another source via hdmi could be a source issue with hdcp or copy guard issues. Sound isn't copy guarded but picture is.

PIP function does not work, the settings is greyed out also! I have a wii, PS3 and freesat :)

Hi nikkicollier,
PiP for your TV works between two different sources. This means between a component source and an HDMI source or between an HDMI source and another HDMI source. PiP also works with a PC connection, e.g. when using the TV as a computer display. PiP does not work between two component sources. The setting will be grayed out when you don't have a configuration that is supported, as the Samsung TV's are usually able to automatically detect which sources are plugged in and available.
derrickolz.png

I'm not exactly sure what sort of configuration you want your PiP to work in, but try one of the following configurations.
  • TV Cable (through VCR or other via Component input) with Satellite in PiP (via HDMI input)
  • PS3 (via HDMI Input) with Satellite in PiP (via Component Input)
  • Wii via HDMI Input) with PS3 in PiP (via HDMI Input)
You can usually find an HDMI cable for much cheaper at an electronics supplies shop, Radio Shack, or on eBay or Gumtree.
To change your PiP settings:
  1. Press the MENU button on the remote control. Select Picture and press Enter.
  2. Select PIP and press Enter.
  3. Press the enter button again, and press up or down to change the setting to On and press enter again.
    Note:
    If PIP is activated the screen will display in widescreen (16:9 aspect ratio.)
  4. Press the up or down buttons to select the Source then press the Enter button.
    Select the source of the sub-picture by pressing the up and down arrows and then pressing the Enter button.
    Note: The sub-picture can serve different source selections based on the what the main source is set to.
    Note:
    You may notice that the picture in the PIP window becomes slightly unnatural when you use the main screen to view a game or karaoke.
You can download the full PDF manual for your TV here (large download at 26MB.) Much of the PIP information can be found on pages 13 and 14.
Good luck, I hope that helps.

I have a cable box connectin and cannot choose HDMI as a source. I had HDMI as the source for about two years and then something must have changed. I have verified the HDMI cable is not the problem. Page...

The manual is telling you that your "source", whatever you are connecting to a particular HDMI port, needs to be turned-on in order for the TV to detect it. Make sure that the HDMI cable plugged into the correct HDMI port for each device (TV & cable box) and that the cable box is on. Does the cable box HDMI port need to be selected in order for it to be functional or is it on all of the time? Check your cable box instruction manual for details on the proper way to enable (turn-on) or disable the various outputs if needed.

Let me know if you need additional info.

I have a 19" phillips lcd tv and when i turn the tv on the phillips screen comes up but when it is going the show the channel it shut off by itself how can i fix this problem?

Hello. I may be able to assist you. If you are using a direct cable connection from the wall outlet;
  • Check the incoming cable or antenna signal connection to ensure that it is properly secured to the TV's antenna input.
  • If the connection is good, perform the automatic installation again to search for all available channels.
If you are using a coaxial connection from the Cable or Satellite box to the TV;
  • Set the TV to the channel specified by the service provider.
  • Change the channels at the Cable or Satellite box to view the program.
If you are using a video connection (CVBS, S-Video, YPbPr, HDMI) from the source (DVD, Cable or Satellite box) to the TV;
  • You do not need to perform automatic installation to search for the channels.
  • Press the 'SOURCE' 071218044349_22024.gif button on the remote control repeatedly to select the correct input source.
If you are using an HDMI connection from the source (DVD, Cable or Satellite box) to the TV;
  1. Reset the TV and source by unplugging it from the power outlet for 30 seconds.
  2. Turn on the TV and press the play button on your source device. If the source is HDMI CEC compliant, the TV will automatically switch to the HDMI input.
  3. If your source is not HDMI CEC compliant, turn on the TV and switch to the HDMI input.
  4. Turn on your source.
If you are sure you have selected the correct input or channel but still have no picture or sound;
  • Try resetting the TV by unplugging it from the power outlet for 30 seconds.
  • Press the 'SOURCE' 071218044349_22024.gif button to select the correct input source.
  • Check the connection cables.
  • Try the connected source with another TV.
  • Connect a different source on the same connection of your TV.

No picture or sound

On mine the indicator light is indicating that it is in STANDBY mode, which means it is OFF. Press the button again, which will turn off the light and now the tv is ON. Now merely press(possibly multiple times) SOURCE to find the correct source for your Cable/SAT and your good to go.

  2. Press the 'SOURCE' button to select the correct input source.
You can try the "Whack" method first though..Just smack or whack the set with your hand or fist around the cabinet to see if that will either aggravate or restore the picture. If so, it means there is a loose connection or cold solder joint of some kind, which you may be able to repair yourself if you have the soldering skills.

If it still does not work, it looks like there is a problem with the vertical blanking due to faulty ribbon connectors, although there are several things that can cause it.
But in my honest opinion, it is best to have an expert technician come in and do some tests on it in order to diagnose the root cause of the issue. It is not easy to fix this yourself, if you have no experience, as there are a lot of parts that have to be removed before you can reach the components. It could be as simple as a loose connector ribbon or a bust capacitor, but it could also be more complicated. Hence, in my honest opinion, better get a qualified technician.

Hope that helps!
