TK 380 diplays "FPU OLD!"

My TK 380 displays "FPU OLD!" what does this mean? It wont let me program it!

This means that you need an older version of software. to program the radio. When it comes to Kenwood the newer version software will not program the older FPU Version radios.

It sounds like it has gone into a protection mode. Pull the battery for a few minutes, or until the radio is at room temperature and then try again.

Tk-380 displays PROG 57600 and will not program

This is hardware oriblem and any cp ik ohm is open. You trouble shoot it and replace it with new ik ohms cp, This will arround cpu.

Kenwood tk-380 when i turn it on and leave it sitting for little while, it gets extremely hot and is killing my batteries....

Sounds like it's stuck in transmit.

Have a Kenwood TK 380, every time I key it up it shuts off then comes back on. I've tried the battery in other radios and they do the same. Is the battery just toast?

TK 380 not transmiting

Its most likely was programmed with a rx but no tx. Meaning it can recieve but not transmit, you can fix this with the programing software.
