Hi there I have my sim card installed in my iphone but it says no sim first it stuck in activation mode and I tried to activate it by putting the sim card in and connect it to the itunes but I got error...

Hi there,

Firstly, because your phone is now jailbroken the software may now be faulty and you may have recurring problems with it.

But you should restore your iPhone as a new iPhone, it will wipe EVERYTHING, from the phone but it will also mean your working from a "clean" phone as it where, it will put it back to how it was from the day you took it out of the box.

Follow the details below to restore your iPhone as a new iPhone and then connect it back up to itunes with the sim inserted to activate it, also if you receive any messages on itunes about carrier settings, choose to update as these are what you need to have your network function. Although as I mentioned earlier, I cant guarantee you that your phone will be working and sorted as it is now jailbroken and doing this permantly alters the phones software.

Hope this helps (please leave feedback)

1 - Load up lateset itunes on your computer
2 - Power down your phone completely - swipe to power off
3 - Hold down the home button (circle button on front of phone) for around 6secs and still holding down connect to the computer
4 - When you receive a message on itunes saying that an iphone has been detected in recovery mode and needs to be restored. Continue with this
5 - On the summary page select the restore option
  1. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up option. If you have just backed up the device, it is not necessary to create another. **dont worry if your not asked to do this, you are restoring your phone as new so a back up isnt needed**

  2. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you.

  3. Once the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple logo while starting up:

After a restore, the iPhone displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. Keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or you see "iPhone is activated." If iTunes does not have an Internet connection, you cannot complete this step.

  4. The final step is to restore your device as a new iphone

I tried to upgrade my already jailbroken iphone 3g with a T-mobile sim card inside and when I tried to update in itunes it said "Sim card not supported" then the phone was stuck in "Emergency calls only"...

You need to jailbreak it again.

Pls. how do i update my jailbroken iphone 3g to the latest firmware

Do u need to keep ur data? if yes then u will need two different PCs/MACs to perform this?

get latest itune on both.
on one of the computer connect ur iphone and once connected to itune, right click on the iphone icon and select back up. All ur data is now backed up.

Now, Perform the steps below at ur own risk.
You will need to do the jailbreak again once upgrade done. keep in mind that the latest firmware iOS 4.0.1 can not be jailbroken and thus can not be unlocked.

Get ur phone in to restore mode by doing ,,
Turn off the iPhone comletely by sliding the red slider on the screen.
Open itunes on the other computer (not the same where u have backed up ur data)

Step 1
Open iTunes and connect the iPhone via USB.
Step 2
Press and hold the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time.
Step 3
Continue holding the both buttons until your iTunes pops up a message telling you that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode.

Your iPhone screen will look like this:

Click OK on the small pop up.
Now, select resore button on the itunes screen and itunes will find the latest upgrade for ur phone and will show u the recommended upgrade in to a small pop up in less then 3mins.

and there u go, select ok and let the itunes perform the rest.

Iphone 3G stuck on emergency call mode..

Try to reinstall a jailbroken version of the iPhone OS.
Do not (ever) use reset to factory if you need the device to be jailbroken to function (e.g. in case you are using an officially unsupported operator/plan)
