Remove maytag inner tub

Remove top cover, take out the bolt remove the small cover to expose the plate with several screws, remove the screws and lift the inner tub up. Usually this requires two people to get the tub up and out as it is very hard to pull up as it kind of sticks to the shaft

My whirlpool duet front load washer has loose fins in the tub. how do i tighten them??

You're not gonna like this:

Pull the washer tub (see elsewhere on FixYa for step-by-steps), split the tub by removing the screws holding the two halves together, and remove the inner tub. Bend any tabs tighter that hold the fins on, and tighten any screws. While you have it apart, check for grease stains or other leakage on either side of the outer tub, and ensure the inner tub bearing is tight so that the inner tub shaft rotates smoothly and without oscillation. If there are stains or if the bearing is showing wear, replace that (back) half of the outer tub to replace the bearing (unless this is one of the few machines that allow you to replace only the bearing). You don't want to put all this back together, only to have to take it all apart again when the inner tub starts hammering on the inner tub because the bearing went south.

Fridge washer GLWS1349AS0, have inner tub out, trunion lifted, not off yet due to slight rust. How do I change spin bearing and tub seal? thanks.

Hello,
To remove the trunion totally reattach the inner tub to it and twist the inner tub, with the tub attached it gives you much more leverage to twist and pull the trunion off. After its off pull the small brass ring with the O seal in it up the transmission shaft and pop the tub seal off. To replace tub bearing remove the bolts on the side of the side of the outer tub off from the tub support and pull tub off of trans. shaft. to remove bearing flip tub upside down and remove the 2 screws from the tabs on bearing and turn tub back right side up and use a screwdriver on the top of bearing and knock it out of outer tub, push new bearing in by hand most of the way, being sure the tabs on bearing is lined up w/notches on tub and use old bearing placed on top of new one and drive it down all the way, reinstall screws into tabs. All the surface rust should be sanded off of trans shaft. Re install outer tub and secure with the bolts into tub support. push main tub seal into flange with normal palm pressure, install new brass ring and MAKE SURE O RING DOESNT POP OUT OF IT ( a little dawn, palmolive joy liquid dishwashing soap around inner part of o ring inside of brass ring will help it slip on easily) I use the old brass ring and press it over new brass ring to assist in o ring not popping out, once new brass ring is inserted ok and oring in place remove and discard old brass ring. Reistall trunion and inner tub ECT ECT ECT

I want to know how to remove the inner drum on my Samsung top loader to enable me to clean the outer drum.

you will need to remove the agitator by removing 1/4"hex screw at the bottom of agitator, then you need a "spanner wrench" to remove inner tub-basket hold-down nut then you can remove inner tub to clean outer tub

My washer agitator spins but the tub doesn't,also see metal insid

Repair or replace is always a judgement call. Most people will be better off replacing the machine. This is a rather big job, labor wise. On a difficulty scale of 1 -10, I'd give it an 8. The metal is the inner area between the inner drum and the transmission shaft, which has corroded and started to break apart. (located under the agitator) To repair, the agitator is removed, the washer front and top are removed to allow the washer's outer tub cover to be removed. This allows the inner tub to be removed. (caution: the big nut under the agitator drive spline is a left hand thread) Then, the drain hose, water level hose, suspension rods, and electrical to the motor are all removed to allow the entire drum to be removed from the washer to allow the inner tub to be removed. The actual metal part which needs to be replaced is then easy to replace by removing a few torx head screws from the underside of the inner tub.

I am trying to clean out all the gunk that has built up between the inner and outer tub on my trusty Kenmore 60 series washer. I have removed the agitator and tried to life the inner tub out to no avail. ...

there is a special nut called a spanner nut. it is about 1 1/2 inches and needs special tool to remove it to get the inner tub out of the unit. you might be able to remove it with a pipe wrench and then you can get access to the outer tub.
i would recommend just using a washer cleaner and trying that first.
these chemical cleaners are designed to remove residues and are much easier then taking the unit apart.

I broke a hammer removing the basket on a 6000 series today. These are known to be a real ***** to remove. Once those screws are out there is a seal nut to remove and the basket hub assembly is what it sits on. Look at 5 and 7 below.
