My ps3 controller isn't charging what should I do ?

First, you need to troubleshoot if it's your system, wire, or controller.

Testing the controller:
Try plugging the wire into another port on the PS3, or into something else to charge it. Try charging it on a friend's system, with his wire, to see if it's your system. If it doesn't work, your controller or battery is bad.

Testing the battery:
Put your battery into another controller, see if it will charge on your friend's PS3 to test it. DO NOT put another battery in your controller: If the controller is shorted, it could ruin your battery!

Testing the Console:
If your controller charges on your friend's PS3 with his wire, try to use their wire on your system. If that works, it's probably your wire. If not, try other ports as I said. If none of the ports charge it (but it charges on your friend's, there's a problem with the voltage or amperage.

_______

If it's your system: It may symbolize a short life left of your PS3, not not for sure. I would still avoid plugging anything into USB you don't want to risk getting destroyed. You can still charge your controller with certain wall chargers, but only certain ones have the circuitry for a "handshake" the PS3 needs to charge.

If it's your wire: Get one from the dollar store should work.

If it's your battery: Getting one one eBay may be cheaper than replacing your controller.

If it's your controller: I prefer wired controllers personally, anyhow... for everything but the Wii, of course. You're going to need a new one for the PS3. You may want to save your battery for a later time or need.

Connect controller using USB message

Your controler is either low on battery charge, or it needs to re-sync with the system.
If you still have the message while it is plugged in, then either the plug is worn, cable has worn out, or it is the wrong kind of USB cable. Some cables do not have a data connection and although they may work to charge the controler, they will not work to sync the controler to the system. Make sure nobody switched your cable for the kind used only to charge cellphones, as USB charger cables do not usually have the data pins enabled.
If it is the correct cable and works for other PS3 controlers, then it could be a worn socket on your controler and no way to really fix except to buy a new controler.
Another, more rare possibility is something wrong with the controler internally, which can sometimes be fixed by using a small pin, like a safety pin and pressing it into the tiny "reset" hole on the bottom of the controler, while it is plugged in to the USB cable and PS3., then pressing the PS3 button on the controler to make sure it's powered on during reset. The "reset hole" is very small, but can be found closest to the screw nearest where the cable plugs in, on the bottom of the controler.

Ps3 controller charging failed

ok, either your charger for the ps3 is broken...or,it cant read(know)the cord is there. you may have dust or something clogged up. i know cause it happend to my ps2...i blew into the slot where the controller goes ( although u need to blow into the charger where u plug it in. if it doesent work... then u may need to either try a different usb plug or controller and see how it goes...OR take the controller and charger to a friends house if they have a ps3 and see if it works on theirs..if it vworks on theirs...then the thing where u plug the charger in at on the ps3 is probably broken or clogged up with dust
...if it doesent work on theirs than your usb plugs are brokn...

Power to controler

Well the Power Button is the PS Button right in the middle of the controller. Or you need to charge it if it's Wireless. While your PS3 is on, connect the USB charger from the controller to one of the USB plug-ins on the PS3 and it will start to charge.

My controller keeps shutting down and doesn't want to charge why

If it is an older controller, that batteries inside maybe worn out and not hold a charge anymore, you will most likely have to buy a new controller for it. so the lights on the controller still flash when plugged into the ps3?

I cant charg my psp i cant find my charger

When you say you can't cahrge it, do you mean on your PC, PS3 or with the charger? I don't think the PS3 charges the PSP, I have no idea about the PC, but if the PSP doesn't charge using it's charger, it is either the battery, the charger, or the psp charger outlet. If it is the battery, buy a new one. If it is the charger outlet, it is a good idea to have 2 working batteries and to buy an external charger at game crazy, game stop, or from sony. This way, you can switch out batteries while playing, like me :). If it is the charger, buy a new one.
I would suggest first trying to buy a new battery. If it works, you are good to go and your old battery was broken, otherwise your charger/ charger outlet is broken. Buy an external charger. Then, you will be able to charge the batteries while one is in the PSP.
A new battery and an external charger cost about $70, but it is worth it. I hope i helped.
