Nikon d3000 Will Tamron 200-500 zoom lens fits and mounts on Nikon D3000 DSLR.?

Good morning. You have likely already gotten an answer to this, but yes, it will.

Unlike less expensive models such as the D40, D60, D3000 and D5000, the D90 has a built in autofocus motor, which means that all Nikon F-mount autofocus-lenses (except two for the rare Nikon F3AF) can be used in autofocus mode for all newer generation autofocus lenses like the Tamron 200-800. However, you may want to look around a bit, as Tamron has come out with a new 150-600 lens that is simply terrific (I know, I own one) and the Big Sig from Sigma is equally great.

Quantaray makes their lenses with a variety of mounts. A lens with a Canon mount, for example, will not fit on the D3000. Assuming the lens has a Nikon mount, then yes, it will work with the D3000.

Yes. The smaller sensor of the D3000 will make it the equivalent of about a 105-315mm lens on a 35mm film or full-frame digital camera. Also, the autofocus will not work with the D3000.

Assuming the lens has a Nikon mount, yes.

The Nikon D3000 does not have a focusing motor built-in, relying on the lens to have a motor. The Tamron AF 55-200mm does not have the necessary motor; it only auto-focuses with Nikon cameras that have the motor in the camera body.

For Nikon lenses, you need lenses designated AF-S. For Tamron, you need lenses designated USD and/or BIM.

That probably wasn't the answer you wanted to see, but there it is.

ALL Nikon AFS branded lenses are compatible with the D3000. The AF lenses are usable in manual mode. Sigma, Tokina and Tamron lenses without the built-in motor are manual mode as well.

This lens and ANY Nikon lens that has AF-S (built-in lens motor) in it will work with the D3000. In addition, some of the newer Tamron, Sigma and Tokina lenses that have the motor built in will work.
Be careful though in holding the heavy lens simply by the DSLR grip. The lens mount may not be able to support the strain.
