How do I turn off copy-card default on xerox copycenter c123

Our old library copier (Xerox CopyCentre C123) is not connected to network. It used to be connected to copy-card reader. We wish to now simply use it as upstairs copier for staff.

SOURCE: Xerox Copycentre C123 Creating a Ghost Image

First place an original on glass and make a copy -- mark #1. With that same original on the glass, move the exposure all the way light and make a copy -- mark #2. Again with the same original on the glass, move the exposure all the way dark and make a copy --- mark #3. Place #1 in the middle so the the copies read --- #2, #1, #3. The #2 should be the lightest and #3 being the darkest. If #2 is darker than #3 you have a developer problem and you need to call for service. If #1 and #2 are bad and #3 is a good copy your machine probably just needs a good cleaning, mainly the optics and charge units. If all 3 copies are still poor with the speckles, your are looking at the PCU ( photo conductive unit) also called the drum unit. You can order this unit online -- it is a customer replaceable item.

SOURCE: Need to establish PIN/Code for machine - help xerox c123

The following information describes how to register userIDs and usernames, login names, and passwords for authenticating accesses attempted through the network for scanning services, and impose restrictions on the maximum number of pages to be copied or scanned. Up to 500 user accounts can be registered.
NOTE: You must be a System Administrator to perform this solution.

  1. Press the [Log In / Out] button on the Control Panel. The Login screen will be displayed.
  2. Enter the System Administrator userID using the numeric keypad on the Control Panel, or select the [Keyboard] button on the Touch Screen to enter the userID, and then select [Save] on the Touch Screen.
  3. If necessary, enter the System Administrator password using the numeric keypad, or select the [Keyboard] button to enter the password, and then select [Save] on the Touch Screen.

NOTE: The default userID is 11111, and the default password is x-admin (must be entered in lower case). If the userID and / or password have been forgotten, a service call must be placed.

  4. Select [Confirm] on the Touch Screen. The System Administrator Menu screen will be displayed.
  5. Select [System Settings]. The System Settings screen will be displayed.
  6. Select [Login / Auditron Administration]. The Login Setup / Auditron Administration screen will be displayed.
  7. Select [Create / Check User Accounts]. The Create / Check User Accounts screen will be displayed.
  8. Select a user account number or use the numeric keypad to enter a user account number in the Go to (001-500) field.
  9. Select [Create / Delete]. The User Account screen will be displayed.
  10. Enter a userID using the keypad on the Touch Screen, and then select [Save]. The Create / Delete screen will be displayed.
  11. Select from the following options:
    • UserID: Allows a userID to be entered using the keyboard on the Touch Screen. Up to 32 alphanumeric characters can be entered including spaces.
    • User Name: Allows a username to be entered using the keyboard on the Touch Screen. Up to 32 alphanumeric characters can be entered including spaces.
    • Password: Allows a password to be entered using the keyboard on the Touch Screen. 4 to 12 alphanumeric characters can be entered. The Password button is also displayed if a password was selected on the Login Setup / Auditron Mode screen.
    • Remote Login Settings: The following settings can be modified on this screen:
      • Login Name - Allows a login name to be programmed that needs to be entered when the machine is accessed through the network.
      • Password - Allows a password to be programmed that needs to be entered when the machine is accessed through the network.
    • Account Limit: Select [Copy Service] or [Scan Service], and then select [Account Limit]. Using the numeric keypad on the Control Panel, specify and restrict the maximum number of pages to be copied or scanned for the account. The maximum number can be entered within the range of 1-9,999,999 pages.
    • Reset Total Impressions: Deletes all data tracked for the selected account.

SOURCE: CopyCentre C123 Copier Copier: CODE 116-331...

It may be a defective Main System Controller board 160K91660 or Hard Drive 960K01120.

There is a diagnostic which requires the Xerox Technician's Laptop to test the Hard Drive.

You might get lucky just reseating the Hard Drive.
