If you have already tried taking the battery out and putting it back in then try these steps, the screen will have to work to complete some steps so I don't know if it will be helpful.

You'll need to replace the screen. Unfortunately there is no other way to fix it.

you only have a couple options.. find the same phone with something else broken and buy it cheao and swap the glass.. or pay to have the glass replaced.. try craigslist..

if u hit the screen forget about it as u have hit a LCD which is not repairable.....u have to get a new or second hand one.....

If you can work the controler try moving back a bit it wont work really close up if it still doesnt work take the controller back it could be damaged
