I turn on my printer and it appears to be ready. When I send something to print it starts making noise like it is about to print but a red light comes on.the paper never goes through. No jammed paper

There are two self tests you can try to test the printer. With only the black cartridge and on sheet of paper. Disconnect the printer from the computer and unplug it. Plug it back in and do the following:

Press and hold the power button. At the same time, press and hold the Ready/Insert button. Release the power button, but keep holding the Ready/Insert button. After 4 seconds, release and press the button again and release. It should print a one page diagnostic test.

The second self print test using all 4 cartridges. Turn the printer on, press and hold the Ready/Insert button for a few seconds and release the button. The test will use all 4 inks.

Try first unplugging power, and removing toner
check inside for foreign objects or fragments of paper
Open all doors and close them back , and plug back power.

this could be your LSU often the printer doesnt realise there is a problem untill it starts to print, try downloading smart panel for this model from the samsung website, smart panel will usually give a more accurate error than the 2 lights do

Please ensure that there is no paper jam in the printer or any door open thereby. Replug the printer after 10 min. powering off.

First start PC and then printer. Report us back for further assistance.

When you refilled the paper, did you load a different size paper? Try this: on your PC, left click on START, then left click on CONTROL PANEL. Next, left click on PRINTERS. Find your BROTHER on the printers page and view the status box. Does it show READY? Are there any DOCUMENTS pending? Left click (you may have to click twice)on the BROTHER icon. The PRINT QUEUE appear, showing any documents waiting to be printed, and their status. If anything is in the queue, cancel all documents so the queue is clear. Next, RIGHT CLICK on the BROTHER icon . On the drop down menu,left click on PRINTING PREFERENCES. Make sure the settings match the paper you have loaded in your machine. If something is not right (Paper size, orientation,etc) the machine will not print. Carefully check all the settings and correct as necessary. To test, first click OK to exit PRINTING PREFERENCES. On the same menu, left click on PROPERTIES. On the GENERAL tab, left click on TEST PAGE button to generate a test print.

Are you sure that all the cards that went in, all came out?

In any case I would open the printer and check the paper feed path to clear any blockages
