Have a whirlpool gold Quiet Partner IV and when turned on today, they water fills as it should when turn on cycle and then once water is filled to where should be, you hear the relay make clicking noise. Normally, that is when we hear the water begin to move around and begin washing them. However, now, it makes that click sound and then just makes humming noise and no water is moving. I have tried to cancel and the water comes out as it should draining. I tried to restart and did the same thing agian...I let it go for a bit longer this time and could smell a burning smell, so pushed cancel again. Any suggestions of what to do or look at???? Thanks A MILLION!!!! I have the same problem as described above, minus the buring smell. I tried running it on a different cycle (pots and pans, crystal, quick wash) and when it got to the rinse cycle during quick wash it made a grinding noise like the bearings may be going bad in the motor. Is this possible?

Could be something as simple as something caught in the food disposer blades. Remove the lower spray arm and filter assembly. There is a cover inside the sump that is removed and once you remove it, you will have access to the food disposer blades and pump impeller.

Hi chrslndsy,
I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.
Your problem is: whirlpool gold quiet partner iv will not turn on there is no sign of life in it at all.
Usually this indicates that the power is disrupted. First check the breakers. 9 times out of 10 it's a broken, loose or burnt connection in the d/w junction box. It's located underneth the d/w behind the kick plate on the right or center, depending on model. Turn the power off at breaker and remove cover. Take each wire nut off and repair/replce as nessessary. Test before you close it up.

Hello &
Welcome to FixYa Press and
hold the AIR DRY/RINSE ONLY button to reset the control, if you have already
tried this and it is possible that the door was opened while in cycle then the
first thing that should be checked is the door switch/lock assembly. You can
take a hair dryer and try to blow air on that, if the problem returns then
replacing the door switch/lock assembly is recommended repair. Please get back
to me if you have any other questions. Kevin
