Thank u, i have put the scart to DV2, from the recorder. In the menu under AV2 connection i have a choice of decoder or others. Under AV2 recording i have a choice of auto, CVBS or RGB, at the moment it is set to RGB, should it be?

Also i have put a scart from the hdd recorder to a DTV scart plug at the back of the tv and this hasnt done anything.

I still have analogue cahnnels 1-5, where would my digital channels show up, under channel 6 or 7?

I have put my TV ariel into the dvd recorder but that doesnt give me any signal on my tv when i go to DTV, i thought the scart would send the signal to the tv but it hasnt....i can get another lead to go from ariel out to my TV and i think this would work...

Thank u so much for ur help, i have had this recorder for 3 yrs and never worked this out!

You need to go into the menu and set the "av-2 out put" to DTV, that should solve the problem, remembering to connect the "in" scart on the recorder to AV-2 on the tv.If there is only 1 scart on the recorder it will be a 2 way connection, sending and recieving a signal.

First of all, to view the dvd, select av-2 on the tv. This will allow you to watch dvds.(the scart lead is not "tuned" as is a direct connection). The DTV connector on the tv, I am unsure what this does but does sound like it sends a signal for recording, try connecting to this( if your dvd recorder has 1 scart, this will be for recording and playback, if it has 2 then 1 is for recording and the other for playback)
You normally have a marker, i.e. to TV or from TV, or a screen shaped "box" with an arrow in or out.
As for the other lead, I assume a coaxial cable for the aerial, as you had on vcrs, this needs to go to both, but some times the signal can be lost if connected to the dvd first, so I suggest connecting to tv and not to dvd as we will be losing terestrial soon anyway. You could connect up as an old vcr would have been but you will have to change it around at some time , also, if like my sony, there are 2 connectors for the aerial on the tv, connect direct to tv first and back to dvd.
    I hope this helps.
