What a heap of junk of a machine. The one I own died after 13 months taking the electrics in the house out with it. A faulty heating element was the cause. They leak over their electrics with predictable results. A modified element has been fitted. Avoid this and all Hoover products like the plague.

More than likely the compressor grounded out blowing the switch, which I've seen a few times dealing with that brand. The times that I've ran across this situation, the main control board inside the refrigerator had to be replaced as well because the compressor sent a surge up to that section severely burning the board.

I hate to say it but theres really nothing you can do. You can try to replace your disc changer or make sure all the screws are tighten up because that can result in a ban

Honestly, repairing and 8 year old AC unit (assuming parts are still available) can cost almost as much as buying a new one. If this is the first time you've had a real problem with it ... You've gotten your monies worth over the past 8 years. But, the decision is yours to make.

I doubt the battery is the culprit for your power troubles.

Has your console at all been unofficially modified?
If so, there's a chance it's bricked, in which case, there are very few fixes, if any are possible at all.

Otherwise, assuming your electrical outlet, and cable are in working order, there is an internal defect in your console and is in need of repair.
Check if your console is still under warranty, or pay to have it replaced.

The parts (gears) are manufactured in plastics so once damaged it is very difficult to rebuild. Sony does not sell gears but complete lens assy. so best way is to find out what Sony charges for the repair. At www.camerarepairjapan.com the rebuilt of zoom repair was around $120 with 3 months warranty. Good luck. James
