Had a engine fire. burned mainly injector harness and all plastic componets. replaced main engine harness and injector harness, tbi and intake sensors etc. no fire damage at fuse box or to pass.side of harness. didnt blow any fuses at time of fire. Now engine cranks over but no spark to plugs, no power to #18 fuse, only one of the 3 pins are hot at coil connector. could the problem be the PCM ?, can I test PCM.

Click on the link.
Voltage for fuse 18 comes from, pcm power relay.
Terminal 30, load side of relay is fuse protected and hot all the time. If you unplug that relay and use jumper wire between terminal 30 and 87, fuse 18 should go hot. That should mean, the control side of relay has a problem, The control side needs voltage and ground.

I personally would check the fuel pressure. Then I would go back to the coil. I have seen brand new bad coils out of the box. The symptoms of a loss of power point to this component, especially if the car idles well, but loses power when accelerating. Please do not rate this reply - we all are left to grasp at straws since you have changed pretty much everything. Good Luck. Please post the final fix of the problem.

Run a compression test on the cylinders. If reading is low on any drop a little engine oil into the pot. If compression rises you have compession ring problems. Remove all plugs before you try this and place leads away from engine.

sounds like you have a dead ignition coil very common problem. to check the ignition coil and fuel injector harness without a scan tool you can use a noid light. it is a 12volt light bulb that connects to the harness side and flashes indicating that the computer is firing the injector and or coil. there is no specifications to check the ignition coils the best way is with a scan tool see witch cylinders have the most counts in the misfire history your local dealer may also be able to perform a cylinder balance test to find the dead hole. unfoutunatly you have to remove the doghouse to access the rear coils and fuel injectors.
