RCA F27450 27" TV Logo
Posted on Oct 22, 2007

Picture size My rca tv model F27450 somehow has changed its picture size. the user guide doesn't even indicate that my tv has the ability to do this. My dvd player has the ability to change picture size but when turned off the tv should go back to its normal screen size. It seems to be in a 4:3 pan scan size.

I'm not sure where to go from here. It seems to be set on wide screen, the words disappear off both edges. How do you get it back to normal screen?

I called RCA about this and first was told that it was my cable company till I told the rep that it does this even when I unhook the cable. I was then told that I could take it in to get it fixed and that even it it was a bad part on their end that I could end up paying for it as if might be the pictue tube or the screen. Guess this will be the last RCA that I ever buy again.

Mine did this last night. I turned the TV on, and the aspect ratio had seemingly changed by itself. There is very little info about this on the internet.

Does RCA model F27450, made in November 2002, have a digital (atsc) tuner?

Doubtful. That's long before digital broadcast was implemented. You will need an adapter box.

Cannot tape on vcr with new dvd-vcr player

You need to route the signal from the cable modulator to the DVR and then to the TV to be able to view and record. If this is done you will be able to watch what you are recording. When you are not recording, the signal will go through the DVR to the TV.
Please change the cabling and you should have what you want.

Heard a loud

Sounds like it could be your power supply board. Same kind of issue i had. Try unplugging your tv completely for an hour.

On my RCA model F27450 does not have any sound.

the output of an amplifier sound pass through a jack. this jack has a change over contact springs.
also test the speaker resistance.
also check the AV cables resistance.

Rca Model R56WH70 Tv. Problem: Unit switches between wide screen & regular size picture on it's own. When watching this tv, picture just changes size on it's own.

you have the auto format on! the tv is working correctly, go into the user adjustments and turn off auto pic size

Doesn't rcognize DVD players

You aren't trying to use channel 3 or 4 are you? That's for RF connections only.

There are probably AV input channels on the set that aren't accessible from the channel up/down buttons. On my set there is another button to switch between inputs and channel select.

RCA television 20" TV/DVD C231 new, no picture, only stays on 15 sec.

This happened to me. Unplugg the TV and let it sit idle for ATLEAST 20min.  Remove the rear cover of the TV. BECAREFUL NOT TO TOUCH THE TUBE OR COMPASITOR THERE MAY TIL BE POWER TO IT!  You should see a (3) prong wire that is black+white+and grey. That wire is most likely disconnected. You will see where it plugs into the board.
