SOURCE: Bose Acoustimass fuse replacement

It is in the sub woofer unit on the main board. Getting the cover off is half the battle. Opposite the input output side directly in the middle of the case there is a little locking mechanism to get the cover off. Use a small flat screwdriver and rotate it CCW until the little tab pokes right out at you. Then pop it (in the direction of the input/output jacks. I twill move about 1/2 to 3/4 inch, then just lift staight up. You can see the fuse on the other side of the board of what you will be staring at when the cover is off. Good luck

SOURCE: Bose Acoustimass 15 woofer, Replacement of RCA female connector

On the end opposite of the jacks (top of the sub opposite connectors) in the exact middle, there is a ratchet looking device (flashlight and magnifying glass reveal the little culprit) with a very small flat screw driver rotate the piece CCW until a small tab is protruding from the middle. Pu the palm of your hand on the plastic case and give it a small whack (in the direction of the jacks) it will move about a 1.2 inch. Lift straight up and the case will come off and reveal the connectors. Trust me, get a flashlight and magnifying glass and peer through the small crack between the cover and the box, you will see the little notch (encoder looking) rotating wheel

SOURCE: Need longer ribbon speaker wire for Acoustimass 16

I have the same question. I just called Bose at 1-877-210-3782 (prompt 6) and they have two solutions:

1. 20 foot Input extension - $25
2. Input adaptor - $12 (you can run your own speaker cable to the input adaptor)

SOURCE: Bose audio input receiver cable 15 pin

You can buy it on ebay but it's cheaper just to make one. If you can solder, all you need is a female 15-pin d-type connector and a bunch of speaker wire. Here is a diagram of the connections.

Unable to receive optimum output. The bass is totally flat !

Hi, ok the Bose Acoustimass III system consists of two small cube speakers and one subwoofer unit called the Acoustimass bass module. If the subwoofer stops working, three points can be the cause of the failure. The Bose Acoustimass III is a passive system, meaning the speakers do not power themselves, but instead are connected to a receiver or amplifier. Thus, the amplifier, the speaker between the amplifier and the subwoofer, or the subwoofer itself could be the issue.

Things You'll Need:

* Amplifier
* Speaker cable
* Extra subwoofer

Instructions

Disconnect the speaker cable from the back of the Bose Accoustimass bass module and connect it to a subwoofer that is known to be working. If the subwoofer works, the bass module needs to be replaced.

Disconnect the speaker cable from the back of the receiver or amplifier you are using and from the back of the subwoofer in Step 1.

Connect a speaker cable that is known to be working between the back of the receiver or amplifier and the back of the Accoustimass module. If the module starts working, then the cable was the issue.

Disconnect the speaker cable from Step 3 from the back of the amplifier or receiver, then connect the cable to the subwoofer port on the back of an amplifier or receiver that is known to be working. If the subwoofer works, the receiver was the issue. If the subwoofer still does not work, verify that the speaker cable is in the subwoofer port of the receiver/amplifier and that the cable is connected securely to the subwoofer.

If you think you did the connection properly,Fine... If not you can use the manual from the below link and know how to connect it properly..

Better sound through bose speakers?

If you have the money to plunk down for a Bose Acoustimass home theater speaker system, I'm sure you will be quite pleased. Of course, as you indicated, appropriate placement of the speakers is important. Still, I'm sure you will find that a properly placed Bose Acoustimass speaker system will fill your room with high quality sound, substantially better than Onkyo's stock speakers placed equally well.

I own a Technics home theater system, which I initially purchased to use in my family room. Yet, when I listened to a Bose Lifestyle system (powered by Bose Acoustimass speakers), I could have nothing less. The Bose system went in the family room, where everyone could enjoy it. I put the Technics system in the bedroom, where it is rarely used.

I have a Lifestyle 35 and want to replace head unit with a 5.1 receiver. The Bose subwoofer model LSPS uses a network type cable connector on the sub side and a male din plug on the head unit side of...

The entire 5.1 amplification system, in the Bose Lifestyle 35, is actually part of the Bose Acoustimass (subwoofer) module. The RJ-45 (network type) connector passes a low-voltage signal from the console to the Acoustimass module. If you were to hack the connection, and plug the speaker outputs of a 5.1 receiver to the RJ-45 socket on the Acoustimass module, you would blow the amplifier.

If you are really itching to replace the Bose Lifestyle 35 console with a regular 5.1 receiver, I strongly suggest you sell your Bose system, and purchase a Bose speaker system, such as the Acoustimass 10 Home Theater Speaker System, which is made for use with a standard 5.1 surround sound receiver.

Bose Acoustimass 15 subwoofer is completely dead.

Clarify, did it ever work for you? Were both receivers used properly configured for the subwoofer? Did you also test the other speaker moduels running off the subwooferto see if they work?

Speaker Receiver setting
• Left and right LARGE
• Center LARGE
• Left and right surround LARGE
• Center surround* LARGE
• LFE/Subwoofer ON
With an Acoustimass 16 Series II system or upgraded Acoustimass 15 Series IlI system only.
