SOURCE: Door Removal Sharp Microwave Model R-1611

The door comes off in a very simple way. Now...I'm speaking from the perspective of MOST microwave ovens. All you should have to do is open the door all the way to the left and lift straight up. The door has mounting pins that fit into a couple of hinge pin holes. If your oven is equipped with an upper panel grid, you may have to remove it, so the door will have more clearance. Putting the new door on is just as simple as lining up the pins in the door with the hinge pin holes and setting the door in place. Close the door slowly to make sure the pins are aligned with the holes properly. If not, the door will fall off while attempting to close. Let me know if this is helpful to you.

SOURCE: How do I get our Sharp Carousel R-1611 off the

You need to remove the hood (the grille cover above the microwave door and above the control panel) by lifting up on the bottom of the hood (the plastic should flex pretty easily) and popping it off. On the far left and right you should see two phillips screws, most likely bronze colored. You need to remove them (they are quite long) completely. The microwave will still be sitting on its support arms (which enter the chasis of the microwave from the rear). Once the screws are removed you need to lift the microwave up and pull forward - it should come off of the supports, but you might have to jiggle it a bit.

Don't forget to unplug the microwave and disconnect any ducting before lifting it off of its supports.

We're trying to remove our sharp R-1420B microwave oven off the wall. We're having absolutely no luck. How do we get this off the wall?

I just removed our Sharp R-1420B microwave. Unplug the microwave. Start by removing the two bolts from the top cabinet (one left and one right). Remove the decorative screws (one left and one right) from the bottom support bracket. I used a plastic bucket sitting on the range as support under the microwave (you may need a couple different sizes). Once the bucket is in place, pull down on the attachment brackets where the decorative bolts were located near the bottom. I used a vise grip to attach and pull them down, and they came down fairly easy. By doing this, the top of the microwave should become detached from the wall. Once you allow the microwave to tilt down far enough (you may need to move the bucket or use a shorter one), you should be able to lift the bottom of the unit off the lower support bracket. Now you can just pull it out from the wall.

How do i remove sharp microwave from wall model

The only problem that ricksterboy doesn't list, is there are also two screws located underneath as well. You have to take off the filter screens to find them. They secure into steel supports inside the microwave.
No getting the micro off the wall w/o removing them, or using a sledge hammer...which after all the time we used trying to get the thing off the wall, seemed like a good theraputic option.
Lucky we took off the vent cover and discovered the additional anchors.

Good luck!

Hood light will not turn off

The problem is damage to the control circuit board. This damage happens usually when the lamps are removed or installed without disconnecting the oven from the power line first. We regularly repair these boards for this very problem for customers from across the country for $32.50. We have an important file called "safety.txt" which you can find by a search on Yahoo.com. It's important information to consider before proceeding.
