I ordered a new lamp for my Sony KDF-E50A1 TV. No problem opening up the outer door and taking out the inner door. All I have to do is hook my finger around the loop of the bulb housing and lift up and out. I have no problem lifting it up, but it will not pull out. I am afraid to break it. I can see the lever pulling up when I lift up on the loop, but it just won't pull out. What do I do?

Some of the ICs on the power supply block are damaged. This can possibly due to high voltage or defective IC. What you can do now is to get a new PS block. If you can get me the part number i can help you find it..

I solved this problem myself. You have to continue working with the housing until the connections meet just perfect. It was extremely frustrating but in the end I got it to work.
SOURCE: I have a Sony KDF-46E2000.
I have the same problem I was told that the new bulb that I put in might be faulty.
