Make sure your gas supply is fresh...not from last year...
Secondly, clean and service the air filter element... you may need to reoil it before installation...check your manual.
Disconnect the fuel line and drain it and what little is in the carb...push on the prime bulb if it's got one...
Then with a clean air filter and fresh gas... give it a start and after start, disengage the choke..
Let me know how you do..

Weedeater dies when you open choke

After you start it and are in the second stage of the choke (half choke ) let it run for awhile until it warms a bit then try openning choke and going to full throttle.

Weedeater starsts and ildes won't run or accerate

It sems to me like your engine chokes itself on a too rich fuel mix, a clogged air filter may cause this condition. Of course there is always the possibility of a needed carburetor adjustment but I would definitely check the air filter first if this machine used to work fine.

Troybilt TB75SS String Trimmer will only run choked to partially choked. I can throttle it and it runs rough but will accelerate with about 1/4 choke. less than that it dies. Not much smoke I expect I...

It sounds like your carburetor needs a good cleaning. You must disassemble the carb., clean all the ports with a small Den Tech Brush, (used for cleaning between teeth). They are very small and perfect for this job. You will also want to clean the small screen in the carb. It may be so clogged that it may need to be replaced. If this is the case, you will need a carb.kit for your Troybilt Trimmer; it comes with small parts and gaskets. (It will come with some gaskets that you will not need.) Replace all old parts with the new ones. This should fix your problem.

Will not run on open choke

HI,

I TALKED TO MY SISTER WHICH IS AN INSPECTOR FOR WEEDEATER COMPANY SHE TOLD ME IT HAS CLOGGED FUEL LINE OR THE TANK IS DIRTY. ALSO CHECK THE PRIMER BULB FOR HARDNESS OR CRACKING THIS ALSO CAN ALLOW A LEAN OUT CONDITION YOU ARE EXPERIENCING. EMPTY THE TANK AND WASH IT OUT WITH FRESH GASOLINE. SETTING FOR THE IDLE SCREW IS 1.5 TO 2 TURNS OUT WHEN TURNED OFF AND FULL THROTTLE SETTING IS HOLD THE THROTTLE WIDE OPEN AND TURN THE SCREW IN UNTIL MAXIMUM RPM IS ACHIEVED. HOPE THIS HELPS GOOD LUCK!

My weed eater will start but when I push on throttle it dies

well take the spark plug out take some WD40 and give it a shot inside the unit, remember to keep the unit level when hitting the throttle and allowing it to warm up for a few minutes before use also make sure where your choke lever is. also when starting I start it on the ground like most manuals state and leave it idle on the ground for a minute before picking it up and then when I pick it up I make sure that the gas tank is tilted towards the ground so there is no room for air to get into the filter causing and disturbance while the unit is warming up.
