I replaced my Cable Modem with a Motorola SB5101 SURFboard cable modem. I hace Comcast High Speed Internet. I connected everything properly to my D-Link DI-524 Wireless Router. I cannot access the internet with my laptop now unless i am plugged into the back of the Router with an Ethernet Cable. The Status light is also not on on the router. If I plug into the Router, i can surf just fine. I went into the configuration and checked all the settings. I also made sure that my IP Address was set to load from the DHCP. I have tried to remove the WEP 128-bit security, but that did not change anything. I also reset my router using the reset button, still, no wireless connection. It was working just fine yesterday before the Modem was changed. Obviously the modem works well since i can connect by plugging into the Ethernet port. My laptop is a Compaq Presario CQ50, running Vista, here is a copy of ipconfig:

Did you call Comcast and give them the new MAC address of the Motorola SB5101 SURFboard cable modem? I'm surpised it works at all without doing this first. This is the hardware address of your modem so the world can see you, no one in the world has the same MAC address, they are all different. It's on a sticker on the modem.
Hi Serina - first of all: what a great post! Very detailed and professional. I just have to say that, since I'm reading here lots of "interesting" questions sometimes.
To your problem:
Apparenatly the router does the "routing" part well, since you can access the internet via cable. The problem is the wireless access point.
Your IP output looks actually good - I can't see any problems with the values. What I would try to do is to disable IPv6, since it is only used on your internal LAN and not yet implemented on the WAN side. This page (link) has a good write-up on the how-to. Don't do the registry part - just disable it in the Properties window.
I had noticed conflicts on computers where IPv4 and v6 were installed simultaniously.

For Solution #2, I called Comcast on the way home from the store with the new Router. I am actually an IS person, it has just been a long time since I have dealt with a stubborn Router. The MAC address is loaded correctly since I am able to successfully connect to the internet.
Using a combination of dante777 and the following post, my problem is now fixed!

Connect the Cable modem to the router's Internet/WAN port, then connect the PC to any one of the router's ports.
Reset the D-Link router:
D-Link Router reset
Step 1 Locate the reset pinhole on the back of the unit.
Step 2 With the unit powered on, press and hold the Reset button.
Step 3 Hold the Reset button for about 10 seconds.
Step 4 Release the Reset button.
Step 5 The unit will reboot. Allow 20-30 seconds before reconnecting.
Step 6 The device is now at factory defaults.
Note: Do not recycle power during the reset procedure. The default user name for most D-Link devices is admin and the password is left blank.
When it says hold for about 10 seconds, don't hold for more than ten seconds or the procedure will likely fail, if ten seconds doesn't work try 5 seconds. Then:
Shutdown your PC. Unplug the power from the router and the cable modem.
Wait 30 sec. then plug in the power to the cable modem, wait 30 sec. then plug the power to the router. Wait till you have "Internet" light then restart your PC. The PC should pick up an IP address and you should be able to get on-line. This is if you have a cable service provider. If you have DSL, the router needs to be configured with PPOe.

Your ipconfig looks so good. Try to ping the router if you can get for 4 lines with a good communication indication. Or check if the router's is broadcasting, could be SSID, or DNS settings.
