Have u tried add/remove programe? If that is not working then download and install ccleaner.exe from http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/update?v=3.03.1366&l=1033. It is free. After installing, go to tools - select the registry booster and mechanic and uninstall them one by one. If u can't do it from there also then u need to delete them from windows registry.
Have you searched the registry using CTRL + F and typing in FSX or Microsoft? This should find all entries. If not, then FSX is not installed properly and you need to uninstall FSX, reboot and re-install. Good luck with it.
VinayT is right, not all updates are for you. Besides, he recommends CCleaner for you to clean Windows registry and improve the slow running speed, why this? If you have never cleaned your registry before, then it will be shocking when you see how many errors exist in your Windows registry. Since you have installed and uninstalled programs, information is stored there. Those errors can cause Windows crash, freeze, errors and, slowdown. CCleaner is good, but in my opinion, not good enough as a registry cleaner, because it covers less areas than paid registry optimizer software, here is a free registry cleaner review may help you know this. Good luck!
uninstall the software 100% reboot the machine so the information obtained in ram is not going to interfere with new installation. using your original cdrom that came with the kit, install your quick books 2007 software register it with the original code and product id sequence numbers. when it tries to run theirs 3 things happening now. the program in initializing it;s visual c run time libraries. and well as calling the dynamically loaded libraries from the windows directory and other locations. if a program was removed that used these files and it was uninstalled with the files then it is possible you will have to install qb from scratch and use the qbw or quick books workspace file to run your company files afterwords. backup the qbw files encase of problems. this is often tell take sings of viral or system melware. then scan with your virus software. and see if anything was crashing the program. other options involve system files missing that are used. good luck.
had the same issue and was able to resolve it by going to HP Compaq's websibe (for you it would be eMachine) and they provided the following information & i uninstalled the driver in device manager after running the below fix, scan the system for new hardware and the DVD drive appeared with the correct driver. hope this helps. good luck.

To resolve this issue, remove upper and lower limits from the registry. Upper and lower limits are points of your computer's registry that control the drivers for your specific device—in this case, the optical drive.
Remove upper and lower limits from the registry using the Microsoft Fix this problem link below:
If Microsoft's automatic fix does not resolve the issue, try using the other methods listed in this document to troubleshoot the issue.
You can use "your uninstaller" to remove registry entries from your registry. Because of the orphan keys you won't be able to install it again. Try that. If you couldn't update and if it says package is corrupted (What is the media that you have stored the SP2?) it may be due to a memory problem. May be the installer. Did you apply SP1 earlier? Check your system whether its capable of installing such sp s or software (large ones) to check whether there is a problem with the extraction (memory) or your windows installer . Hope this would help. If so please rate :) Thank You Good luck
you probably uninstaled it, but didn't remove it from the registry properly... try searching the registry on: Start > Run and type Regedit, and go to search, and type SmartBro... yuste delete those keys and reboot...
warning! backup your registry before you make any changes!
