Making it dance

I would check out some places that custom make shoes. There are some that do leather soled shoes suitable for dancing. Some people can custom make orthopedic shoes and may not have the experience to do this one!

Make sure you are using fresh batteries.

That's a really odd thing for it to do! Well first thing I would try is taking the disc out, then getting something like windex and a paper towel and cleaning it well. Remember when cleaning discs don't clean in a circle, clean from the middle out. Then restart the Wii and then put it in.

sounds like one of the motors on the wheels stop working making it go around in circle and not forward

if it's a wireless mat you need to turn it on and put in batteries

This game inserts into a normal DVD player - you do not need a games console to play it. It comes with the DVD and the dance mat which you simply roll out in front of the TV. Insert DVD into player and away you go.

We found the solution on another post:
"Try making sure that the DDR mat is plugged into the FIRST controller jack (there are 4). That is the only way that it is associated with controller 1. If you plug it in any of the other controller jacks, you will be able to use the mat with instructions, configuration, etc., but not to dance. Hope this is your problem! -GeoffM"

if its real new as in you just installed it look behind hte unit for shipping braces that haven been removed.. they keep the machine solid in shipping and reek havok if not uninstalled
