Simply its because of your internet browser software. I mean your browser is facing some problems in using such secure websites which uses SECURE SOCKET LAYER (SSL) for data transfer.

In such case,I recommend you to re-install your Internet Browser or use another browser like FIREFOX or IE-7 or CHROME etc...

When trying to login Facebook I get this, Error 107 (net::ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR): SSL protocol error.

This error might be associated with Google Chrome, if you are using that browser to login to facebook, try using a different one like Firefox or internet explorer.

Windows mail gave me this error message: Account: 'yahoo mail', Server: 'plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR popgate unknown command', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server...

If you have Yahoo! Mail Plus (a paid upgrade), you can access those messages directly from a standard email program (such as Outlook, Windows Live Mail, etc.). You need to configure the account settings in your email program for the Yahoo service.

The settings for incoming mail are:
Incoming (POP) server: plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com
Port: 995
Security: SSL

For more on Yahoo server settings, see this Yahoo help page:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/yahoomail/mailplus/pop/pop-14.html

For details on configuring the WLM email program, see this Microsoft help page:

You want to use these settings to  configure a mail client for yahoo:

Incoming mail server settings
POP server: plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com
Use SSL
Port: 995

Outgoing mail server (SMTP) settings
SMTP server: plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Use SSL
Port: 465 (or 587 if your ISP is blocking 465)

And, of course, you also need to put in:
Username (yahoo login username)
Email Address
Password (yahoo password)

Good luck!

Error 107 (net::ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR): Unknown error.

You are using a security protocol not compatible with the site's certificate. It depends on which browser you're using, but I have a few fixes in mind.

If you're using Internet Explorer: At the top go to Tools then Internet Options, then click on the tab that says Advanced. Scroll down through the list and you want to make sure that "Use SSL 3.0" is checked.

If you're using Firefox: At the top go to Tools, then Options. Then the tab that says Advanced. Click on the tab in the lower portion that says Encryption. Make sure "Use SSL 3.0" is selected.

If you're using Google Chrome: Uninstall and reinstall the newest version.

I want to be able to add a yahoo email account

Are you using it online or on a program (ex. Windows Mail). And if you have been using it by a program, have you subscribed to Yahoo! Plus? You can only get POP3 access if you subscribe to Yahoo! Plus. It costs 19.99 a year or a month.

Error 107 (net::ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR): Unknown error.

If you are using an email program, you don't have the protocol setup correctly. If you are trying with a web browser, you have another problem.

If you are using Google's Chromium. I don't know of a fix except to use another web browser and set it to Classic mode. Now Google's Chromium should work.
