Cannot save router setup. I type in information in d-link setup and it will not save

The orange light usually means that you are not connected.
Try this:
Step 1: go to your Windows command and type ipconfig /all, it will give you all the vital information, i.e. default gateway, dns server, ip, etc.
Step 2: Go to your browser, type 192.168.0.1 (default ip address for the router)
Step 3: Go to the Setup Tab, click on Internet Connection Setup Wizard, if you feel adventurous, select the manual internet connection setup and fill in all the information that it ask for. The wizard should be straight forward.
Step 4: Go to the top and Save Settings, it will prompt you if you are sure, click ok and the router will reboot and apply those configurations and the orange led light will turn into a green one.

When asked for username use admin and password leave it empty
then goto

SETUP -> WIRELESS SETUP -> MANUAL WIRELESS CONNECTION SETUP -> WIRELESS SECURITY MODE and select "Enable WPA > WPA -> WPA Key -> create your own password and save now if you want to access the Wireless connection you will have to enter the WPA key you just created.

Each router has its own unique PIN. The PIN will be asked only once for setting up your router.

You can find the unique PIN behind the router written on a sticker which states the model number, serial number and the pin number.

within the web based setup of the router is an option to save a backup of your current settings. (while it is working) save the file (it needs to be saved to a flash drive or external hdd as it will be lost if you put it in a folder and reload your system again) you then enter the web based router setup and restore the router with this file from the flash or external hdd........however, I know of no way to keep your network settings on the actual PC or laptop unless you are only doing a repair and not a full format when you reinstal windows you must enter the info during setup or if wireless you must go to network connections and set the properties on the wireless connection by using the advanced settings such as type of security, etc.........if not unplugged the router should retain its settings.

reset set the modem first. then connect the one system to adsl modem. type 192.168.1.1 in browser. enter user name&password.go to interface setup tab-internet--select bridge mode--save and reboot. now remove that take router connect to system type 192.168.1.1 in browser. enter user name&password.go to interface setup or advance setup in that wan tab or internet tab select dynamic ip and lan page give different network address eg-10.0.0.1 for router 10.0.0.2-...254,255.0.0.0,10.0.0.1 save and reboot it will work or just call 08041478653 , 9740575949

I will be more than glad to assist u in this concern..Please dont use the setup cd or setup wizard. you can access the setup page of the router by typing at the url:192.168.0.1 then it will ask for the user name and password, by default the username is admin and the password, leave it blank.. here are the things u need to check before u setup u router.. .. if you are using a cable modem from ur cable company provider- u need to do a mac clone on the router u have to clone the mac address of ur computer. normaly the mac of ur computer is the one register to your cable company and on the setup page of the router just selct on the internet setup, dhcp after clonning the mac address of your computer. u need to connect ur computer directly to the router and then after doing the process connect the router to the modem. if u are using a username and password, u have to use the pppoe settings on the router, if ur isp set a static ip , set it up to the router, to check the ip setting of your isp.. connect the computer directly to the modem and check if u have internet.. then click on start, run and type cmd,it will give u a dos prompt and from there type ipconfig/all and it will show u the ip address, subnetmask, default gateway, dns server.. I hope this will solve ur concern..

you have to change your channelk type in your wi fi router.
For that access your router with following link

http://192.168.1.1 or
http://192.168.0.1

if you have belkin router
http://192.168.2.1

type user name as "admin" and password is "admin" or blank or "password"

then go to wi fi ->advanced setup chang channel type 4 ,6 ,11
change chanel type 1 by 1 and check signal strength.
everyt time save settings and restart both computer and router after save settings.

To setup your router
first check..
Connect the Broadband modem to the computer using an Ethernet cable without the router installed and make sure that the Internet connection is active. If it is not, contact your Internet Service Provider. If it can go online,
to setup connection..
Step 1:
Connect the Broadband modem to the router’s WAN or Internet port.
Step 2:
Connect the computer to any available numbered port (1, 2, 3 or 4).
NOTE: In this example, we’ll connect the computer to port number 3.
Step 3:
Make sure the power adapter is plugged to an available power outlet.
Step 4:
check if you are able to go online wired..
if not your router has to be configured first,
to config your router i need some more information
your internet service providers (isp)name , and how many computers do u have totally..

Are you able to access the router itself? try typing 192.168.0.1 in your browser. it's the routers internal address. if your able to access the router and sign in. click the advaced tab and choose network filter. put your mac address in the page. save. you can find the mac address by start-run type "cmd"( with no"") in the comand window type ipconfig/all. the mac address is the physical address. do this to each pc that you need access for. hope this helps. good luck.
