Auto rewind wont begin - Minolta Maxxum 300si 35mm SLR Camera

is it the auto film load feature on this camera doing this ??? it maybe the type of film u use , most auto loads are not to forgiving on the different types of film , I had this problem as I still use a film camera a lot for infrared photos (digitals too expensive ) and have found that its real picky on whos film I use to weather it works or not , as on some brands of film it just goes on and on and never stops , the only way I can save it from being ruined is to tell it to rewind , it then sucks all the film back into holder and I try it again ,sometimes works sometimes no

To rewind, you simply push the rewind button. However, this does not rewind from the point you are at like a tape does, it goes to the beginning of the recording. Once you are in the play mode, pushing rewind will rewind from that point.

That is an "O" ring drive belt. you can buy them online by size, remember when you order it that you need a shorted one as the old one is stretched. Here is a link to where I get my belts. by just pressing the rewind button, it goes to beginning. by press and holding down the rewind button, it will start rewinding slowly and get faster the longer it is being held down.

try this:
some cameras have a memory where they begin make sure the memory is off or cleared then try to rewind or try fwd to end clear memory then rewind tape...

now sometime tapes of 120 are really not recommended because of the load of tape amd ost have a tension sensor 60m is usually the best recommended

I have a trv-58 with the same problem. One way is to press play and rewind while in play mode.Getting back to the first of the tape is a chore.
