Hi, If you changed relay, overload, & capacitor on the compressor and it still clicks on and off, the compressor has gone bad and will need replaced. Is this unit under five years old?

Kenmore coldspot coils freeze up fefrigerayor does not work

Check the defrost timer if that is good check the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat. It is common for the defrost thermostat to go bad.

Kenmore side by side Refrigerator is not cooling , The freezer is working just fine what can I doto fix .

The problem is most likely a defrost problem caused by one of three components that control defrost. Defrost Control, defrost heater and defrost thermostat. To know what your refrigeraytor components are you need to post the model number found around the fresh food section door. The model number for a Kenmore will look like this example=> 106.1068130670 Post ypour model number and I will look up your parts if you like, Thanks Sea Breeze

You can begin by manually defrosting the coils behind the rear wall of the freezer with a hair dryer if frost is present as in this photo HERE If you see that as in first photo the coils behind that panel will look like this HERE

The top of my refigerator is freezing in the back

Hi, the problem you are having is the defrost timer not going into defrost mode when the timer says to. They are normally located in the bottom back of the unit and will have a screw driver slot on it. It may be stuck in the off position. Turn it a click with a screwdriver and see if this starts the defrost mode and other problems. Is the evaporator fan in the freezer up and running? If not, this motor must be on. Keep me posted on this and we can get to the bottom of the problem.
Sincerely,

Our frig will frost up on the frezzer side and the refigerator side will not stay cold what can cause this?

you have a defrost problem, you could have a bad thermostat,a bad timer or addaptive defrost board, you didn't send model number so i can't tell you what you have there or a bad heater, you need to take off the back wall inside the freezer, and read out the heater and thermostat to see what's bad,and melt out all the ice,if you want to send model number i can look it up for you, also when you open the freezer door do you hear the fan blowing,if not you could have a bad evap fan motor

My freezer defrosted and the refrigerator is not as cold as it was

That sounds like the compressor start capacitor, relay or overload. It could even be the defrost timer or part of the defrost Adaptive Defrost Control. I will need the Sear Kenmore model number. I will need you to communicate with me and look around the door of the fresh food section for a model number. Sears uses a different model number when they sell a Maytag, Whirlpool or any Brand nam. Their number after changing would look like this 231.65489 near floor behind door seal and near kick plate.I will help you if you let me know, Thanks Sea Breeze

It has been plugged in all night and it not cold

This can be several things. Defrost timer is stuck in defrost, thermostat is defective, Adaptive Defrost defective, start relay defective or start capacitor defective. If you can find the model number on the bottom frame of refrigerator be behind fresh food door, see if you find a number like 213.54879 for example. If you can find that number I will be able to see your exact model and lead you to the problem faster. If you find the defrost timer turn it slowly clockwise until the compressor starts. If the thermostat is defective try unplugging refigerator remove the cover over the thermostat and check for continuity across both male connectiond with the wires removed or join the two ends of the wire together with a short wire taking care not to allow the wire to touch anything as you replug in the refrigerator. If not there the we will move down to compressor to feel if warm, hot, cold. We may need to check the start relay and start capacitor. Most times the defrost timer or adaptive defrost is founs behind the control panel next to the thermostat. I will need to get the complete model number to tell you excatctly what you have. Please unplug fridge befor touching any electrical parts Thank you, Sea Breeze

Water is leaking on the top shelves in my kenmore refriderator water is leaking on the top shelves in my kenmore I have water leaking onto the top shelf of our Kenmore refrigerator. I believe it goes into...

During the defrost cycle heaters inside the walls of the freezer turn on to melt the frost. The melted frost "water" is supposed to drain into a pan under the fridge where it will evaporate. I think the drain line from the freezer to this pan may be blocked. I'd also check the seal on the freezer door. If it's not sealing well it lets a lot of moisture into the freezer which means more water during the defrost cycle. I'd also recommend checking to make sure the ice maker is not leaking.

Fresh side not cooling

I will assume until you can confirm the model number is near Sears KENMORE ELITE, Model No. 10650594000 But I will need you to double check because Sears always uses a number different than the MFG.
For the moment I need you to remove some things from the freezer and remove the back panel covering the evaporator coils. Look for the coils to be frozen over. If so it could be the adaptive defrost control found inside the fresh food compartment part number 4388932
Or a problem with defrost thermostat or the defrost element. I am here to help, Just let me know, Sea Breeze
