My carrier model # 48ss-036100331 induced-draft motor will not start

On some of those inducer motors there is also a capacitor in the blower compartment on the left side of the burner section. It is possible that if you have 230v coming from the board CM terminals and if the motor is new maybe you have a bad capacitor in the blower section. Follow the wires to the capacitor and check microfarad reading to that capacitor. Caution there maybe 2 in this area but one is for the indoor blower motor and the other will be for the draft motor. The blower capacitor may be somewhere between 10 or 15 mfd but the draft inducer capacitor will be around 3 mfd. hope this helps

How do I wire a induce fan motor

Induced fan motors on older units are wired through the high limit safety on the stack - in series. When the furnace calls for heat, the induced fan motor comes on and after a time the furnace will light.

Older units have a temp switch in the stack that rotates to bring on the burners and blower motor. . When there is a call for heat, the induced draft fan motor comes on and then the burners will light.

After the heat exchanger is warmed up the limit switch will bring the blower motor on. That's basically how it works - there are two circuits - one for the induced draft motor and the burners and the other for the blower and high limit.

New units have a plug on the board you just plug in.

My furnace just quit a while ago. The Draft inducer motor blower make alot of noise when it trys to start and then it shuts down. I actually had to turnthe blower with a screw driver first before it...

Hello, if the inducer motor is bad then the furnace will not continue further and work, it could be that the bearings are shot on the inducer or it has failed electricly. Best thing to do here is replace the inducer motor.

I have a furnace that has a draft inducer blower that will start and shut down, it will re-start and shut down again or it may run through the entire cycle and run fine. I had a heating tech take a look at...

Certainly wouldn't rule out the blockage as your friend suggests. Perhaps pulling it out, and a flashlight and if necessary a mirror to get a good look in there. May have to head up to top for a look as well. As long as blower sounds like it's running good speed wise.

Weathermaker 8000 furnance flashing code 31 blower comes on for 90 sec .. then shuts off .. then other fan goes on.. don't see any flames or lighting goin on can you help?

31 PRESSURE SWITCH DID NOT CLOSE OR REOPENED - If open longer than five minutes,
inducer shuts off for 15 minutes before retry. Check for: - Excessive wind
- Proper vent sizing - Defective inducer motor
- Low inducer voltage (115VAC) - Defective pressure switch
- Inadequate combustion air supply - Disconnected or obstructed pressure tubing
- Low inlet gas pressure (if LGPS used) - Restricted vent
If it opens during blower on-delay period, blower will come on for the selected blower
off-delay.
