PC HARDWARE i want to know what processor can i have on my motherboard.the motherboard is ecs ellitegroup 915p-a . can i put on it intel core 2 duo or stick with celeron

In your description it says P4 which is not possible for an intel 915 chipset. Verify your model and go on the manufacturer web site whit all the info.

    Well sorry about the confusion it right that the chipset 915 is only good for lga775 boards but the P4 is only part of the description.

    Depending on the board revision you will have different CPU, on your board it will be written in a corner or in the middle something like v3.0 or v1.0

I looked up your mobo and found that it was released around 2004, this indicates to me that the best cpu you could use may be a pentium 4. Im not 100% sure but thats my opinion anyway.

1.Intel Pentium D Processor.
2.Intel Pentium 4 Processor.

Just a follow question regarding ecs 945g-m3 motherboard.. is this compatible for core 2 duo processor with 45nm technology like Intel E7500 (2.93G) 3mb 1066fsb C2D.

According to the ECS website, it should support the 1066 FSB C2D, however it mentioned it's on the 65nm technology. Latest processor support shows for the E6420. So, I doubt it would take the 7500...

Your motherboard is for a AMD processor not Intel. You need a motherboard for a Intel processor before you can proceed.They are so different. Core Duo chips don't even use pins.
