Question about Jenn-Air JDB6510 Built-in Dishwasher

1 Answer

Not getting the dishes clean

Our dishes are not getting clean. It sounds like the water is not circulating very well...like the washer arms are not turning at a high enough rate of speed.

Looks like it's already olde device, that have lot of residues everywhere, so correct water flow is not achieved....

it's problem of all older dishwashers....
ask technician about price, if it's cheap let him repair it.... but sure later something else will come up....
or buy new one, sometimes it's cheaper, than to repair it....

Check that the arms spin freely when spun by hand, then check the outlet jets at the trailing end of the arms are not blocked with food particles and other solid matter. This often happens and the arm is unable to turn because the water jet that is supposed to drive the arm does not have the force to rotate it with the result is that the upper dishes do not get enough water and chemicals. .

White film is all over my inside of the dish washer & dishes

This sounds like excess soap or not enough water. You may also have really hard water.
Turn on machine wait until it starts running see how much water is inside. there should be a 1/2 to 1" +/- in the bottom but not enough that the wash arm would be touching and not enough that the door would be leaking when you open it. This could also be a circulation problem set wash arms a certain way and observe that they have moved when you open after running for a minute or 2.
Please let me know if I can do anything else to help.

My dishwasher doesn't clean my dishes anymore and sometimes it doesnt dry them. it is a quiet partner 1 and it is about 2 years old.

It sounds like the water pump on the dish washer has gone out. A dish washer works (much like a clothes washer) by filling up the washer with a set amount of water, then through circulation, pumps the water up through the various spray nozzels. If the water pump is worn and not making enough pressure, the spray won't get the job done. Depending upon make/model, it may be cheaper to replace the water pump.

Run an empty dishwasher load with a bowl of white vinegar on the bottom shelf. As the dishwasher runs the cycle, the vinegar is slowly disbursed and cleans the dishwasher.

Water is not coming up through spray arms

Sounds like the circulation pump is not operating, could be blocked with food or just defective. you would need to turn the unit on it's side and have a look at the pump from underneath.
Or you could just have blocked spray arms causing a blockage and not allowing water to escape through the holes. Remove each spray arm (there are 3 in total) and check and clean all the holes as this is where the water sprays out from to clean the dishes and glasses. When they are blocked you also get poor wash results.

Top rack of dish washer does not have enough water

Trouble shooting here... but the same pumb that circulates water... vents it.... So, if the vent valve is clogged with food debris, then you would not retain enough water to wash all the upper rack dishes...
I recommend inspecting the exhaust tube port of the pump (a selenoid is the operating device for that valve). Be sure that it is able to operate freely (close all the way. Otherwise, it is just the pump intake!! only choices...you have already eliminated the rest (GOOD JOB)

No water spraying in washer, and no error code

Either:

1. not enough water gets into the dishwasher. open the dishwasher 3-4 times during cycle, you should see some water at least once, if not - check water valve, water level float and water pressure.
2. the pump is clogged - there is water, the motor will run but no water is circulated. Check pump filters, check chopper and impeller.

Good luck,

The top washer arm on a Frigidaire-Gallery Series falls off

This also happens with my GLD2350RC, except my dishes won't get clean. I believe its because the water does not circulate right inside. Also I have melted spots from where the arm rested on the heat element. I need to get this this back on.......

Water not getting to the upper level, dishes not cleaned.

Penrod, sounds like a circulation problem. Two things to check first. make sure the upper spray arm is not clogged with debris or split. Second is to twist and remove the filter and clear out any debris where the water enters the circulation pump impeller. If something has jammed the impeller, you would have to remove the dishwasher, remove the tank, remove the circulation motor and clean out the impeller...Catriver...post back.
