check all fuse, hope they blew saving super expensive modules all blown up.

first is the IMMO -SKIS lamp noW glowing wrong in the cluster.
if the PCM cuts spark (for many reasons) 1 second flat it also cuts fuel (by law) SO NO CRASH AND BURN.
that is how EFI works, so spark is 2nd , fuel is last\\
scan the PCM is NOW. see DTC errors, unless PCM blew up?
ASE 101 (each step is proved using tools and skills.

1. good engine
2. good spark not one, ALL good
3. good fueling rates

If IMMO fails try 2nd key that came with car new.
if IMMO still fails , pull battery lug for 1or more hours even over night to get a hard reset.
on my GC the iMMO lamp is only RED, no icon , no words

lamp 12 is SKIS ,IMMO lamp, immoblizer, the user guide tell you how it talks to you, to show 3 logical states
GOOD = happy
bad = key b ad
or bad, worse, PCM and even 3 modules bad making IMMO dead.

if radio is dead later, for lost CODE (license)
the rules is, ask he radio first before battery ***** its code and write it down first. but is too late now sure if code is lost.car dealer has fix. when that happens.

The lamp control circuit is defective. Look for burned connectors.

Hi there,

This model as 3 LED indicator lights:

1) Power/Timer 2) Status 3) Lamp


If "STATUS" LED is blinking RED:

1) Internal Fan has stopped. These tv's require fans, to prevent overheating and causing damage.

If "STATUS" LED is solid RED:


1) Circuit failure (short)
2) Disconnected DVI cable, chassis to engine
3) No LAMP-EN signal from Engine to turn the lamp On.
4) Ballast UART communication problem.

If "LAMP" LED is solid RED:

1) Lamp Failure - Lamp failed to turn On.
2) Lamp is broken (e.g. burst or blown)
3) Lamp turns Off during P-ON

There is no data relating to TIMER LED being solid RED.

I would suspect the ballast that powers the lamp may be bad.

It would be a good idea at this point to Call Sony customer service to see if this issue in this model is in their extensive data base of problems/answers by model number.

Clean the filters and check the lamp before it is too late and the lamp bursts or the LCD units burn.

Hi, did you solve your problem? I've got exact same problem with it?

Lamps only last for 5,000 hrs -8,000 Playing hrs
It means every hour you Play TV Lamp burns up the hours, so after 5,000hrs on most Lamp needs replacing, some Lamps dont even last this long DLPs are not like Projection you can play them 24-7 and Tubes will remain good, But Lamps are like a light bulb they all burn out after so many hours.
Best thing is to turn TV off if you are not watching it, in order to Save Hours burt on Lamp.

Replace the Lamp.

make sure the colorwheel is spinning. if it is not, replace it. also, blow the dust out of it with canned air. excessive dust kills lamps quickly. you'll also need to reset the lamp timer. are you using an sp-lamp-009? the sp-lamp-018 looks exactly like it, but is used in th x1a and x2. the x1 only uses the sp-lamp-009. if all else fails, replace the power supply.

Lamps are only design to play 5,000-8,000 HRs you cannot leave them on day&night like projection ,they will burn Lamp out quick. For New Lamp go to E-Bay 85.00 and up.

Please describe the status of the LED indicator. No LED would indicate a failure of the power supply. I can help you with that.
Flashing red would indicate a fan/lamp problem. Some lamps fail prematurely before the lamp hours are up.
If it is the power supply, no lights at all, I can get you running again. These units have fragile power supplies that can burn out with the slightest power surge. A UPS goes a long way to save future headaches.
